[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

The machine just passed the seven day uptime mark with no real problems. If you're having power management problems it's definitely worth making a custom SSDT.

I just wanted to pop back in to say that since I reinstalled using this method I was having some consistent issues with random reboots, fan noise, and a few other power management related issues. I'm running a i7-3770, 1050 Ti, and High Sierra on my machine, for reference. A few days ago I...

Hey, I just wanted to check back in with a problem I'm having with pretty regular Kernel Panics due to what appears to be IntelMausiEthernet.kext. I've attached my most recent log of it. For the record, they happen exclusively when the machine is asleep. Thanks again for your help with this...

Okay! I'll try running without the custom SSDT and report back if my issues are resolved, just because that seems like the logical first step. Thanks!

Hey, folks. Things are going pretty well after a few weeks with this install, save a few issues with power management. The first falls more into the category of annoying than dire, but sometimes, most often after long periods of uptime, my system won't actually sleep, near as I can tell. It'll...

[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Haven't tested my HDMI audio because I'm only using DisplayPort and my monitors don't have speakers, but for what it's worth DisplayPort audio is an assignable audio device in the sound control panel and shows up in system profiler just fine. As for everything else, USB seems to be working just...

Test files attached. Anecdotally Bluetooth and Continuity are working now.

Hey, thanks so much for your help! Did you mean to attach files to your post? I did everything you said except for the first line just because I didn't know what you meant by it.

I tried to do that, but rebuilding my kexts cache caused the attached error and booting without those kexts in Clover/Kexts/Other make me unbootable. I pulled the drive and used another Mac to put the kexts back in C/K/O, leaving them in /L/E, but that didn't fix my Bluetooth issue, either.

I tend to prefer using clover injection for everything that's hack related. If you think that's part of the problem, though, I can for sure move them along to /Library/Extensions. I should be using the latest SSDT and config.plist, too, with only minor changes for my SMBIOS. As for...

I'm still on High Sierra because I need my 1050 Ti to drive both my monitors since the 8300 SFF only has the one DisplayPort. and EDIT for the sake of clarity, since my Desktop apparently uses a different account on here than my Laptop. Sorry about the confusion. I'm also Supertrain. I've...

First of all, thanks a lot for this. I was having some troubles after updating to High Sierra on my machine and redid my install with this guide and it works a treat. I'm having one problem, though: the Bluetooth half of my wireless card doesn't work any more. It doesn't even show up as...

[Guide] HP 6300 Pro / HP 8300 Elite - A 100 percent Working and Easily Affordable CustoMac

Applying the FireWire 800 DSDT fix in clover let macOS see the card, but things are still a little hairy. System profiler recognizes the card as a FireWire in the PCI section, but doesn’t recognize it in the FireWire section. It may still work, but I’ve gotta check with an actual drive. Anyway...

[Guide] HP 6300 Pro / HP 8300 Elite - A 100 percent Working and Easily Affordable CustoMac

I just completed my build, and it's working great. I ended up paying around $400 for a 3770, a 1050 Ti, and 16 GB of RAM, which is a pretty great deal in my book. I tried to update to High Sierra yesterday and had it hang on the first reboot, but I'm sure I can resolve that in time. If anyone's...
