    pastrychef's build - Asus Maximus VIII Gene - i7-7700K - GTX 1080

Hi pastrychef. Would you say the Asus Maximus VIII Gene yields a better compatibility and stability than the Gigabyte Z170 SLI? My system is working but not as perfect as I would like. Sometimes, after waking up the OS slows down and stutters for 20 to 30 seconds. On another note, Are you going...

    The GPU you really need

Definitely. Let me pick your brain again, Is it possible to have both the 770 and 970 cards running, but have the 770 using the osx drivers and the 970 Nvidia's? Thanks for your time.

    The GPU you really need

This is my config at the moment. iGPU active, 64MB in BIOS. Then Intel inject, ig-platform-id you indicate, the 4 monitors patch, and GFX0 to IGPU and PEGP to GFX0. With this config I still get glitches. Then going to BIOS and setting the iGPU as primary the glitches go away but no boot screen...

    The GPU you really need

That's reassuring pastrychef. I'll give it another try. I am a software developer (XCode, Intellij, Coda, Sketch 3 and many other wonderful apps for mac) and enthusiast photographer (Capture one,Lightroom and Photoshop), so I don't need a powerful graphics card except when applying some...

    The GPU you really need

I can see you are using the HD 530 as coprocessor as well so macOS can default to it when renders metal stuff. I am using the same system definitions and had the same plist except the "4_displays patch" which I am going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing. As for the GTX 745, Are you using the...

    The GPU you really need

It is the norm. You have a similar computer to mine. I would honestly appreciate you prove me wrong. Here some links to threads reporting the issue. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/nvidia-web-driver-ibooks-bug.203229/...

    The GPU you really need

I have been a Hackintosh tinker for more than 4 years. Little by little I realized that my PC mindset was not working anymore when building a Hackintosh. More often than not newest is enemy of good. Let me explain myself. When building a Hackintosh choosing the right components is paramount...

Working Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI with NVidia 9 series

Hi. The kext can be downloaded here http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/f...p-on-1150-and-possibly-other-realteks.170063/ . It's attached to the #1 post. I don't feel comfortable sending other people's work without crediting them. To get my hackintosh working as iMac 17,1 I selected the SMB...

Working Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI with NVidia 9 series

To get the audio working I simply use Multibeast. You need to select your the proper audio driver and the patch ACL 1150 if your mobo has this audio chip. This is enough to get the audio working but you'll going to have issues after wake-up, for which I used a kext made for the ACL1150 chip that...

Working Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI with NVidia 9 series

I'm sorry for the belated answer. You have to install them in " Library/Extensions". In order to install a kext you need to copy the file and "touch" it, for which you can use KextBeast. You will find the app in the download section.

Accidentally made my hackintosh 6,1 and now it's cooked

Does the usb contain a bootable copy of Windows 10? If so I would try restoring the default settings in your BIOS and see if you can boot off the usb. When the computer starts also press F12 to select the boot device.
