So as far as installing Mountain Lion on a brand new out of the box SSD are you saying I'll be fine?
That article (which seems to be about speeding up SSD performance) says : " if your SSD was formatted by something other than Windows' installer, it can be aligned incorrectly and will transfer...
So I found this on the legacy blog:The Actual Problem:
With disk drives getting larger and larger manufacturers have had to change the default block size from 512 bytes to 4,096 bytes. These new drives are known as "Advanced Format" or 4K drives. Initially this was only seen on drives larger...
Hey, I'm pretty new to all this and despite searching I haven't managed to clear up one of my concerns.
On my first build I want to install Mountain Lion to an SSD for faster boot times and a generally speedier system (I will have a HDD for main storage)
Thing is I've heard that there are...
Just looked at your components list and noticed that its practically exactly the same as mine! good choice!
Im glad to hear you're up and running, makes me feel more confident about my build!
Looking forward to hearing an update on this!
Hey,
Just found that I can actually afford to spend more than I originally thought (Why not it's going to be a good investment anyway right?!)
so, same question, (Compatible? What PSU?) (Pretty sure compatible... Anyone know if I'd have to do loads of post installation shizz though?)...
Hey,
I've tried searching the forums and I can't find anything about this card.
I'm thinking about getting it for my hackintosh as it seems to pack plenty of bang for its buck (£85GBP)
But I don't want to get it for it not to be compatible... Anyone out there know whether it is or not?
Or can...
is it worth the extra £10 for the 2GB version of the Zotac GTX 650 as opposed to the 1GB

yeah the 6870 is certainly over my budget... but i think i'll follow your advice and get that gtx 650.
have you any idea how much power i would need for my build in total with that card included?
Right, well I'm starting to understand a bit more now, thanks for that.
Where I order from just depends on where I can get best price. (obviously) If I was to order a GT 640 it would probably be this one...
I do intend to be gaming a bit on this build. I intend to dual boot windows 7 on it for gaming. if the 650's aren't much more expensive I'll look around for one, any recommended brands?
