Just noticed this as my mouse disappeared for a while into nowhereland :) I noticed in System Report that my display is marked as a television. Is that normal or maybe somehow connected to this issue?
Can't see anything interesting here, but then again I don't know what I'm looking for. This is at the point where it hangs.
Edit: I do find it interesting though that the image is appearing upside down here
Hey there! I recently bought a new display (Dell U2715H) for my laptop and wanted to check how it plays with my Hackintosh. To my disappointment the computer boots up and the Apple boot screen finishes booting and then just a gray screen, nothing, both HDMI and DP. So if I have both my monitors...
Thanks, much appreciated!
In the meantime I seem to have resolved the situation. I had set Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology to Enabled the first times I tried but with Auto it works very well. Am currently @ 42 41 40 39.
Hey, would you mind sharing your BIOS settings? I'm trying to overclock my MB too, but am having sleep issues (goes to sleep, takes a 6-7 times reboot session and opens at "Please fix your settings or whatever" window) when I try to.
First I couldn't activate Profile1 for XMP because of sleep...
Sooooo :)
I disabled EHCI Hand-Off and set X.M.P. to Profile1 and so far everything's fine.
This was my route:
Profile1 Enabled & EHCI HO Enabled -> No go
Profile1 Disabled & EHCI HO Enabled -> Fine
Profile1 Disabled & EHCI HO Disabled -> Fine
Profile1 Enabled & EHCI HO Disabled ->...
I did, yeah.
I've narrowed it down to when I choose Profile1 for my RAM (which I did on F9 without probs), the sleep doesn't work, but if I have it disabled it's all OK. Is that a MultiBeast issue or UEFI then?
Not at all, just that it was/is my only option. And it does boot. However, I take my last post back, the sleep problem is absolutely there, but somewhat random ie. doesn't always happen:
Go to sleep and it either wakes up on it's own or when I try to wake it goes into rebooting constantly for...
Dear Lord, so as I thought hmm I might try once more, of course straight after writing something on here the issue mysteriously cleared up. I now have a functional sleep/wake system. Yay!
But I'm still a bit startled by this Boot Option setting.
So just when I thought I'd been relieved of my woes... Hmmm.
I'd finally managed to upgrade my BIOS to the UEFI.
Got it set up with the fine instructions made by thelostswede and booted fine.
Ran Multibeast and got sound working again (only chose Without DSDT/ALC889).
Now I put the...
I'm glad to report that after making a new bootable DOS stick through Windows, everything went well!
Now I'll have to read up again on what advantages this UEFI business has :-)
