Same here!
EDIT: Installed the 10.10.2 update from App Store and after the reboot iMessage & FaceTime are still logged in, and a test message delivered successfully. iCloud Drive seems okay too. iCloud control panel is happy too!
Nice to see Apple giving us some love on Valentine's Day :)
Just booted up my hackintosh for the first time in a couple of weeks (been using Windows for Office) and I've been logged out of iMessage and FaceTime. I've not triggered an update or anything.
EDIT: Done an update to OS X 10.10.1 and nothing has changed. Still not working. Shame as I got this...
Unfortunately I don't have a real Mac to check this, but with an algorithmically generated key it's unlikely they would omit some sort of check digit. Anyone checked simple parity algorithms against the first 16 digits to see if it produces the 17th? 17 is a strange number to use, but 16 + 1...
How I Did It
Since I only just got this working this afternoon (on a clean Yosemite installation) here's a list of all the steps I took to get iMessage working (from this guide):
1) Installed Clover over Chimera
2) Used Clover Configurator and set up all the normal things I need for my...
Thank you!
I battled with iMessage and FaceTime for ages even with Clover but once I generated myself valid MLB and ROM values I was able to get a Customer ID. Called Apple and all good! Thank you so much for this guide. I now have a fully working self-built "iMac" running Yosemite, fully...
I'm going to second this. It's one of the reasons I wanted to contribute the artwork code; the hardware is absolutely beautifully finished! If that was >£80 on Amazon I wouldn't be surprised. It's a quality piece of engineering. Nice work MacTester!
It works :) I'm just cleaning the code up then I'll get some binaries and instructions up :)
I haven't done any autostart scripts or frontend styling yet but the actual code appears to work :)
EDIT: Try this: http://cl.ly/2U1C252R3n02
It's SERIOUSLY hacky and needs a bit of manual set...
I have a solution for the landscape cover...
There is an Apple framework called Scripting Bridge which is compatible with iTunes. I wrote a small app (for fun :P) called iTweetMiTunes which tweets the music that iTunes is playing along with an upload of the album art using this framework...
I've had a black screen issue and another where all the apps were glitched up. I just reinstall Mountain Lion flat over the top: problem solved.
To install iI needed GraphicsEnabler=Yes -v npci=0x3000 darkwake=0 PCIRootUID=0 which got me past the postboot black screen. I don't use PCIRootUID...
I'm glad I'm not the only one that's wondered this! Business hackintoshing might irritate Apple though so I guess nobody has spent any real time attempting it.
Here's my SMBIOS plist. I blacked out the serial so nobody tries to use mine; it's been randomly generated and could mess up my App Store ;P
The important bit is SMmaximalclock: set this to your speed in MHz (ie 4200 for 4.2GHz)
Have fun!
I'm pretty sure this hasn't been properly discussed elsewhere so I'm going to open a Pandora's box here and ask something that may or may not actually be possible: is it possible to PXE Boot the hackintosh installation? (Also apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum; I thought this...
Ah. The 3570k is worth every penny extra. Unless you need VT-d or an extra £9-£11 the 3570k will give you HD4000 and overclocking. Not even sure why the 3570 exists tbh!
When you enter the BIOS ensure you're in 3D mode then click on the CPU Socket. Then you can pump up the voltage and...
