My boot drive is also a 960 EVO M2 NVMe drive and I have the exact same issue as the two others in this thread.
I did:
none of the existing 10.12 NVMe patch stuff remains (spoofed kext or the SSDT file)
trimforce disable to attempt to disable TRIM on the drive
booted into recovery mode...
For what it's worth, I'm successfully running the 960 EVO (via built-in M.2 slot on the asus h170 motherboard) with no issues for the past couple of days, including sleep/wake cycles.
I followed this guide and created a SSDT to spoof the class code for my particular setup (it was on...
More evidence that this is a unique problem to this particular line of motherboard/BIOS.
Using the link you posted as a guide, I found something else suggesting that disabling C6/C7 in the BIOS may be a 'fix'. I'm trying this now. sleep & wake function as I expect even with it disabled.
Has...
Taking a cue from xenophon61, I tried to find a setting similar to the Disable PLL Overvoltage in the gigabyte BIOS (z97-UD3H) but could only find 'CPU PLL' and 'Filter PLL'.
I just competed an exhaustive test of all 9 permutations of the settings for these two options:
CPU PLL: Auto, SBPLL...
Hey guys,
I would be remiss if not reporting any updates. Unfortunately there were still system stability issues a few days after submitting this report. I went 9 straight days of sleep/wake cycles with no problems but at the end, there were stability issues. The system froze/rebooted after...
I've got nearly 5 days of uptime in El Capitan OSX 10.11 and no issues so far. This is with many long sleep-wake cycles. I will certainly report back one-way of the other if anything changes or stays the same. So far (and I think it's too early to say), 10.11 isn't exhibiting this problem for...
Here's an update from my own investigation and attempts. So far there is no remedy to this and I'm not convinced that it is necessarily hardware related (e.g. bad memory modules) as I'm still able to reproduce the symptoms even after trying with FOUR different types of memory modules...
I, too, am having the same problem. Kernel Panics after waking from sleep (sometimes after it has been asleep for a very long time, and sometimes after a short period of time).
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD3H
CPU: I7-4790K
Memory: CRUCIAL 16GB 8X2 D3 1600 DIMM C8 (BLT2KIT8G3D1608DT1TX0 /...
I was about to start a similar thread but will jump on this one since it's the same topic.
I've also got a Nvidia 660 TI and am disappointed with the graphics performance in OSX. Using Luxmark in OSX I get around a 580 score. When I boot into windows and run the same luxmark test, I get about...
I do this successfully with an EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 TI (2GB) connected to my iMac running the PC/hackintosh in TargetDisplayMode. Mic/Camera are not carried-over.
It's important to note that I did not have any luck with a different-brand GTX 660. It had to be the EVGA version. Please...
Incredible...
toleda, even though the motherboard manual shows the PCIe slot I used as x16, you are correct that it was only running at x4. Buried in the manual I suspect is the key to the issue:
"In CrossFireXTM mode, please install the PCI Express x16 graphics cards on PCIE2 and PCIE3...
Thanks toleda,
The video card (eVGA Geforce GTX 660 Ti) is in the boards only PCI Express 3.0 x16 Slot. The other PCI Express x16 slot is PCI Express 2.0.
Is my only recourse to relocate the graphics cards from PCI Express 3.0 to PCI Express 2.0?
