Post Big Sur install on GA-Z77X-UD5H using Golden Build EFI, need audio and ethernet

Success with dropping in kexts for ethernet. Success with creating USBPorts.kext Creating a new SSDT-PM.aml I continue to fiddle with. I think the link in the terminal command is not working to download the ssdtPRGen.zip. If I download it myself and place it on the first level of the Home...

Post Big Sur install on GA-Z77X-UD5H using Golden Build EFI, need audio and ethernet

Open Core 0.7.6, Catalina, Install doesn’t complete

Also dropped the notion of using APFS. Formatted the drive as Mac OS extended journaled with GUID. Installation is proceeding now.

Open Core 0.7.6, Catalina, Install doesn’t complete

In my config plist I’ve went under Misc and changed TimeOut to 10 seconds to give me enough time to change possible boot location created by the Catalina installer. Let’s see if that works.

Computer restarts after 2 min left during macOS Catalina Installation

Try not formatting the USB stick or the target drive as APFS?

Computer restarts after 2 min left during macOS Catalina Installation

I’m having the same problem. I’m expecting several reboots during the install process. But rebooting sends the PC back to the USB stick to start the install process over again.

Open Core 0.7.6, Catalina, Install doesn’t complete

I made a USB installer using Open Core for the first time, most current version at the moment which I think is .76. I’m able to boot from USB, partition my NVME as APFS, GUID and begin installing Catalina. During the install process, I expect the machine to reboot several times before...

Suggestion on working cards that support Metal

Hi, helpful. Challenging to find a card in general, but I got my hands on a ASUS Radeon 560 which I just dropped into slot 1 on my z77-UD5H. The pc boots and the card is in use, I get the Apple logo as my Catalina install boots up, but about 2 thirds the way into the progress bar, I lose...

Suggestion on working cards that support Metal

Using Waves plug-ins. After install, GUI for plug-ins don't render. System Requirements say you need a graphics card that supports Metal. I'm just using built in graphics on the Intel I5. Would an AMD Sapphire RX580 work? Catalina, Clover, Multibeast, Z77X-UD5 motherboard. Thanks!

<< Solved >> Z77X-UD5H Clover Catalina Onboard Ethernet not working

Back in business after deleting the ethernet device in Catalina/SystemPreferences/Network. Injecting both kexts with Multibeast and rebooting. New Ethernet device was recognized and new plists written. Thanks for setting me in the right direction!
