What's interesting is that if I boot with an invalid ig-platform-id such as 0x12345678, the colour banding disappears, but I'm left with 7mb Vram. Is there a custom EDID for Intel HD 4600? Thanks and sorry for the trouble. Most of these things are a bit complex to understand.

That's a normal one? I didn't know. I waited a few minutes. When I boot without verbose, after a while the screen goes black. The apple logo disappears and I cant see anything. Is that normal as well?
