I just figured out that Firefox prevents my system from autosleeping. If I quit it before walking away the system autosleeps.

10.6.5 -> 10.6.6 using software update. Just needed to reboot :D

I've had my 5770 for about a month, and the card hasn't had any issues. Really happy with it so far.

Okay, my install is also now up and running again with the kabyl bootloader under Multibeast 2.5.1, thanks to a kind member. Problem solved!
