Thank you nguyenmac. The previous installs had the SSDT generator/patcher checked.
Will try reinstalling without the Fix EDID and EliteBook logo options.
EDIT:
Clean installed with the following PBI items checked:
Clover UEFI, OSX Supports Kext 2x70p, Patch DSDT, 2x70p config, Original...
It boots and works. But when installing PBI, checking Misc OSX files now automatically checks HD4600 OpenCL for the 2x70p.
I overlooked this since it was not yet a feature in the pre-Yosemite PBI.
I'll do another clean install and see if this solves the problem.
Thank you again.
EDIT:
Clean...
I tried a clean install of OSX, and this time did not check the Old Kext Remover in PBI. It still gave me the Apple with Spinning Wheel error. Tried installing only CC and still gives me the error.
I did note that if I boot OSX in verbose mode by pressing space bar in Clover, I can bypass the...
Here are my troubleshooting files.
Wanted to make sure you've got what you need so I've included two sets of files in separate folders. One is upon fresh install without PBI and the other is after encountering installation error with PBI's Extra Tools.
Troubleshooting Files
It's more or less working now. Installation fails every time I try to install any of the Extra Tools. Everything else from PBI installed correctly. Thank you for the help.
Wanted to try to fix iMessage before updating to Yosemite. Is that a better route than going straight Yosemite?
Thank you for being patient with me.
Here's my EFI folder from the USB.
EDIT: My problem was with PBI but I'm transferring my post to the Mavericks Thread since I'm installing Mavericks.
That's my problem, I can load clover via USB but I get the error right after Step 8. Cannot seem to get to Step 9 (OSX Install screen). Trying to find another way to access the MAC partition though.
8. Clover bootloader screen shows up, select "Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Mavericks"...
I did read it. But my problem is that I cannot load the actual OSX which makes CC inaccessible to me. Still trying to find my way around the problem, but my limited experience in this field isn't helping much.
Your reaction is valid since I did not supply what you need. But believe me when I...
Sorry if I got off on the wrong foot here. I just redid the same steps I did last time when dual boot worked but then came the problem. Did as much as I could before asking for help.
Oh thank goodness. But what would be the source of the Apple-Spinning Wheel problem then?
If it helps, I also noted that my most recent OEM Windows Update is not pushing through. It reverts back to previous stable update.
I tried downloading Linux Mint ISO and creating a bootable usb but it would not load since my SSD is in GPT format. Bootmgr not found Error.
I'll try your suggestions as well.
EDIT:
Used the Live USB installer I got Linux Mint to boot. Ran lspci -nn in Terminal and it worked.
Is Linux the only way for lspci -nn? Which version of Linux should I run?
I'm not very knowledgeable of this OS, so I'll have to take smaller steps here.
Hi RehabMan.
How exactly do I do that? I'm good with following instructions but not so good improvising as I go along.
In the event it is broken, does that mean I'm done for good?
