Thanks a lot for these extensive hints and the effort to look into my config. This is actually the reason why I liked to build my own hackintosh machine. You learn a lot about hardware and you can expect a lot of friendly support from other hackintoshers ;)
However none of the modification...
Ok, EFI folder attached. Some observations meanwhile after testing:
I can boot with this EFI from an USB Stick but I am ending up in a recovery "OS X Base System" volume where at least I can examine my disks
With the USB EFI I get the OC GUI where my disks are visible but not boot works other...
Yes I just did that. And it turned my Hacintosh into a dead brick ;(
Apparently its dangerous to reset the NVRAM with different bootloaders. Now even the untouched(!) clover disk does not boot anymore. Back to the old nagging problem of memory allocation errors which were a headache some years...
Hi,
I am considering the transition to OC but would not like to touch my major working drive1 with Clover and OSX 10.14 in any way! I always need this disk as backup.
I got an clone SSD connected via SATA with a copy of disk1 formatted as APFS and an EFI partition. I was following the guides to...
Thanks for your hint. Unfortunately it does change anything. I assume the card is recogniized as possible "hardware encoder" but the driver(s) do not communicate properly leading to a GPU crash.
As my Haswell system is rather old I do not expect improvement from latest Lilu, WhatEverGreen...
I tried with old default iMac14,1 then iMac14,2 now with iMac15,1. All booting fine but no improvement for the GPU problem
Currently trying:
with clover Device Properties inject AAPL,ig-platform-id = 0x402100B (althoug iGPU still not enabled in BIOS)
yep, that might be the "hard way". But I wanna give at least a try as the card works 95%fine and also ok for my other Bootdisk with Windows 8.
All Docs and hints here indicate to enable the onboard Intel HD4600 GPU. I might try again this route but so far the system never booted with an enabled...
I got a 95% stable config now with my Hacintosh except for some really peculiar glitches with my Rx480 card. The card actually crashes and you can see reboot attempts in the system log file:
This goes on forever, all Finder windows frozen, mouse is still moving...
This happens occasionally in...
yes.. despite all these forums and 10000 hints it can be frustrating. In particual Clover can be a pain in the ass as documentation is horrible and always 3 versions behind the actual status.
2 ideas:
- boot from a HDMI port on your graphics card if available.
- whatever you define as startup...
ok got it finally working. I write my solution as a reference for other although everyone has a different config:
- you need not only the USBInjectAll.kext as described here but also the (UEFI) drivers UsbKbDxe.efi and UsbMouseDxe.efi
- you need to install those elements not only on the USB...
So you are saying that one of your rear USB plugs where still active? Why would a wireless keyboard change anything?
I am stucked at the same point right now..
I used UniBeast 8.3.2 for a test install on my 2.HD and everything went fine. Now I am trying to use the same USB stick on my main HD (currently on 10.12.6) and suddenly I am stucked on this stupid error where USB keyboard and mouse are no longer recognised.
Why is working with one HD but not...
Thats an old bug (or feature?) in clover. Got never resolved. I tried all these tricks, one day I place (again?) the name of my Boot HD (not the UUID) as default in config.plist and suddenly it accepted this HD as default. Did not chance anything since then...
