Awesome guide, im running a very similar build to yourself. except running an apogee through firewire via the thunderbolt. how does the Apollo run? Im also having the same shutdown restart problem, have tried everything including the USB ssdt

Great post and system, also running a similar system for a studio computer. Using firewire into an apogee.. Just wondering if you have had success with shutdown... or does it restart.

@RehabMan , not to sure if you have seen yet but tagged you on a thread about restart issues.. having a little trouble, after plenty of reading just about given up.. Computer instantly restarts if anything is connected to a USB-port

To get around this I booted from a Standard hard drive, ran the NVME patch then cloned across.

@RehabMan Big love on all your work, I have my first mackintosh up and going for a studio computer. Running a 6700k , Designare motherboard, 960Pro M.2 , Gtx 980ti... despite all my efforts I am still suffering from shutdown restart... I know you help so many people on here, but if you could...

ok feel a little stupid the reason why I was getting low Geekbench is I had two ram chips in both port 1 and 2... Still having the shutdown reset problem but other then that. FLYING.

Make sure to have run AGDPfix and also for this board I had to install EMUVARIABLEUEFI

its all working quite well but still lots of restarts on shutdown. Still not getting the best Geekbench either but is working. Just wondering if anyone with Designare z170x could show or tell me their Bios settings. @henrychic Also What are people using for dark wake with this board.
