Hi,
I installed OSX 10.9.4 (before ran OSX 10.6.8 which runs very fine and fast) on my old Vaio F11 notebook which nVidia GT330m (only HDMI) and Core i7 q720 1,6 - 2,8ghz....
The GUI is very sluggish, QuartzExtreme is enabled, nvidia driver is loading (watching on external HDMI). Also mouse movement very often lags. Windows and desktop animations lag. This was quite ok in OSX 10.6.8.
Here are my question?
- What could be the cause for this? Could it be a too low / bad Core i7 power management / steppings?
- Is my CPU capable of the new kernel micro power management instead AppleIntelCPUPM? How can I see, what mode is currently activated?
- I tried to generate proper ssdt states for my cpu using ssdtPRGen.sh. But the script does not recognize my cpu type... How can I generate on my cpu?
- Should I enable P-states and C-states?
- Or is it caused by a too aggressive gpu power management? Can I patch AppleGraphicsPM for faster timings? I use MacBookPro6,2 as smbios, since it has exactly the same GPU
Attached the current DSDT, SSDT and ioreg.
I also already "tuned" the Pstates in APGM for my nvidia/macbookpro6,2, but it's still lagging. Sometimes it stops for a quarter second. BTW. the primary partition resides on a USB3 hard drive. Could the usb controller block the graphics card or cpu?
Please help! Thanks!
