Unfortunately I don't know what caused this other than "some update was run".

I've booted with: -v
and get: com.apple.launchd 1 com.apple.launchctl.System 2 The System bootstrapper has crashed: Trace/BPT trap: 5

I've tried booting with: PCIRootUID=1 cpus=1 GraphicsEnabler=No -v -x
and system hangs on: Previous Shutdown Cause: 3
SMC::smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL - fall back to old SMC mode

Then the system hangs. Wish I knew what update was run, but at this point I have no idea.

I tried getting rBoot going, but don't have another Mac available.

Any help would be appreciated, TIA

*update*

I just tried reconfiguring the BIOS with default settings, but that didn't help things.

Just noticed that I didn't mention I was running 10.7.4.

*progress*

reinstalled 10.7.3 finally booted into OSX! but nothing worked...

ran multibeast defaults selected with apporiate DSDT on desktop, then rebooted

heavy artifacts present, sounds present, network worked

4 updates available, but only ran 10.7.5 update

still downloading 10.7.5 update.. going to sleep

progress update to come soon...

Hey thanks for posting on my thread to point out you are having similar troubles.

Can I ask how did you reinstall 10.7.3 to boot into OS X. If I could even boot I think I could solve my troubles through multi beast.

Thanks a lot!

Hey oigarrison, I had originally created a bootable 10.7.3 USB drive to setup my hackintosh, but I'm sure if you have a 10.7.3 DVD that would work as well. Once I had booted off of the USB drive in my case, I reinstalled OSX 10.7.3 and it booted into OSX. Hope this helps.

After 10.7.5 downloaded and installed, I rebooted, but didn't have any audio. This happened to me after the 10.7.4 update as well. All I had to do was run multibeast again with just the two audio options selected: ALC8xxHDA and AppleHDA Rollback. After reboot I have audio again, all is well. The artifact issue appears to have been corrected as well.

I still haven't run the 4 other updates and will do that later today. I will post back with progress.

I have a bootable iBoot USB I have just made, with lion. I can successfully get the Lion install to open on my hackintosh with iBoot, my question is, if I reinstall Lion using this iBoot on my hackintosh will I lose all previous data on that hard drive?? Thanks a lot for the help!

I should have mentioned that no data was lost during the reinstall on top of the existing install. As mentioned in the other thread, make sure you have a good backup just in case.

Brilliant, cheers for that. Going to carbon copy my hard drive and try reinstalling Lion. Fingers crossed!
