I installed Mountain Lion on a system with integrated HD4000 graphics, connected to a 46" Samsung LED TV via HDMI cable. When I boot up I get the distorted image that you see below. Lots of horizontal lines, etc. Turning the TV off and back on again seems to fix this, however it happens again if I reboot. Is there a permanent fix for this?

Thanks.

The picture is EXACTLY the same as my son is experiencing "now" after transporting the system we built home ( http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/88498-musintosh-music.html )
Edit: using DVI-D port....

As soon as he gets back from "being social", we will try start up options described in http://www.tonymacx86.com/61-unibeast-install-os-x-mountain-lion-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html.
From general reading, I think some people are using GraphicsEnabler=No in similiar systems.
I am currently trying to find a system like "ours" that uses HD4000 and MB with what options. (Edit: failed, no real "sucess" in finding match)

Please respond with sucess or failure as this will help me tomorrow ...

I tried GraphicsEnabler=no at the boot loader screen. It boots up into Mountain Lion, and the screen isn't distorted anymore; however it's set to a lower resolution. Mountain Lion won't let me set it back to 1920x1080. It doesn't give me that option in the Display settings under System Preferences.

HD4000 requires GraphicsEnabler=Yes "Graphics Mode"="<resolution>" replace resolution with your monitor res for example "1920x1080x32".

Also it requires you set the iGPU ram to 64MB in your BIOS.

This is what happens to me whenever I change the resolution from within the OS.. Let me know if you find a solution.

Yes their is a fix to that Pjalm told you how to do that about 4 posts ago. try adding this to your org.chameleon.Boot.plist
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>"1920x1080x32"</string>

Thanks. That seems to have worked. I went into /Extra/ and modified org.chameleon.Boot.plist by adding:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>"1920x1080x32"</string>

My BIOS GPU RAM is set to 64MB, however when I click on About This Mac and More Info it lists my GPU RAM as 512MB. Is this normal? I have my system definition set to Mac Pro 5,1.

Why Mac Pro 5,1? You do know those smbios profiles are not for cosmetic purposes right? You would have had to delete a system kext to make that work which means when 10.8.3 comes out and u update, it will replace that kext making your system non bootable.

Stick to the default Mac Pro3,1 unless you _must_ use a different one for some hardware compatibility and I dought you have a Xeon CPU or ECC RAM which both the Mac Pro 4,1 and 5,1 use.

I set it to Mac Pro 5,1 in Multibeast and moved the kext file out of the \System\Library\Extentions\ folder. I will probably move it back though and re-run Multibeast and reset it to iMac 12,2 or whatever it was at before. Can I set it to the newer iMac 13,1 setting that came with the latest MultiBeast?, or will that mess everything up?

Again why are you doing this? stick to Mac Pro 3,1 its the default for a reason. I did sya those profiles are _not_ for cosmetic purposes, just because you think they look neat dosn't mean you should use them.
