After my computer wakes from sleep I experience low graphic performance. I am using system definition MacPro 3,1. I have been trying to read up on exactly how to fix this using Chameleon Wizard but after reading some horror stories of KP's and endless reboots, I am afraid to move forward with a system definition switch without knowing which is the best one to use in my case to fix this issue, or even changing the system definition is indeed going to solve my problem. If anyone could help It would be appreciated. Thank you.

Shame guy! Are these people ignoring your post?:crazy:

You should be using imac12,1 or 12,2. Use Chameleon Wizard to create a new System Profile (or use one from MultiB). This will allow the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement kext to load and keep control of the video card's power management. MacPro3,1 is just the default profile as it causes the least amount of problems for installation and getting you system up and running properly. It does not load AGPM which has been a problem for some cards in the past, but without AGPM loading, you would more than likely experience graphic performance loss. It does, however give you a chance to edit the AGPM kext if need be. Not sure about AMD, but Nvidia boards require edits to power threshold values to give better performance. Use the 12,1 /2 profile and benchmark the performance. If the perfprmance is worse than in the 3,1 profile, read up on AGPM edits for AMD 6 series cards and you should come right. Don't edit if not needed (if it ain't broke don't fix it)

PS: You should not experience a KP moving to imac12,1 or 12,2. It is only MacPro 5,1 which is fragile = Change AppleTyMCEDriver.kext. to AppleTyMCEDriver.kext.backup and it won't KP in 5,1.:silent:

I'm a chatterbox and felt compelled to add: Dont' be scared of a KP. If you do not have a backup install to give you access to your drive after making the wrong decision, it is always a good thing to know some Terminal commands, like deleting and moving files. Before you change something, keep a backup on the install USB. If you have a KP and can't access your system using -x, you can boot up from the install USB which gives access to Terminal so you can delete the offending kext /SMBios or anything else and move the backed up working file on USB back into place.:geek:

I really want to kiss you man :lol: (not really :p) You are awesome! Today I figured out that I had the same issue with my 6870! After awaking from sleep I wanted to play TF2 and only got around 30fps. Normally I get over 100fps!

Also my temps were really low which was impossible because I played a 3D game max graphics before! --> graphics card in low power mode?

Then I fired up Cinebench to check my graphics and got only around 15 points which is really bad.
My last score was around 51. I rebooted. Checked my score. Baaam 51 again! Go to sleep...wake up..only 15 again.

Finally I read your post and installed the imac12,2 (latest imac version) rebooted and instantly go to sleep. Wake up, check the score and baaam! 53,61! :headbang::headbang:

Only one bug is left. After awaking from sleep only my main monitor works. My TV (on HDMI) gets no signal. Even if I try to replug it. But it's not really a big problem to me. But anyway...let me know if you know something about it. I openend a thread about the topic.

Thank you very much katiebug2u! You saved my world :mrgreen:

Thank You katiebug2u!!!

I have pulled my hair out trying to resolve this issue ever since Mountain Lion came out, I have tried everything & nothing worked until now, (did a clean install & selected 12.1 in MultiBeast)

katiebug2u thanks again, you made my day.

<3.

Thank you, that solved it for me too!
(and OP, thank you for insisting to get an answer ;) )

I really want that this topic get pinned! :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Cause I'm really not the only person who had this problem. This could help many people. :)

So please mods pin it! ;)

Hmm, was quit eager to try this out, but it did not work for me, I tried 12.1 and 12.2 iMac profiles with multibeast. I can't see AppleGraphicsPowerManagement in System info either (shouldn't it show up there!?), and I still get around 22 FPS with my XFX Radeon HD 6870 1gb (DD) in cinebench :(:(:(

Here is a screenshot of my system info window:
http://d.pr/i/Iv5q

Here is my AGPM, i edited the device ID corresponding to the one in system report

Code:
<key>iMac12,2</key>
			<dict>
				<key>Vendor1002Device6738</key>
				<dict>
					<key>QSC</key>
					<dict>
						<key>Enabled</key>
						<integer>1</integer>
						<key>Mode</key>
						<integer>1</integer>
						<key>hwPState</key>
						<array>
							<integer>0</integer>
							<integer>0</integer>
							<integer>0</integer>
							<integer>1</integer>
							<integer>1</integer>
							<integer>1</integer>
							<integer>1</integer>
							<integer>1</integer>
							<integer>2</integer>
						</array>
						<key>qscOnTime</key>
						<array>
							<integer>0</integer>
							<integer>960</integer>
							<integer>2400</integer>
							<integer>0</integer>
							<integer>2560</integer>
							<integer>5280</integer>
							<integer>8000</integer>
							<integer>10560</integer>
							<integer>0</integer>
						</array>
					</dict>
					<key>control-id</key>
					<integer>17</integer>
					<key>max-power-state</key>
					<integer>8</integer>
				</dict>

I Also looked up ATI6000Controller.kext & ATIX3000.kext to see if my device ID was there, and it was.
Still no luck :(:(:(
