Hi folks!

I recently installed yosemite on my X99 platform, so far so good. Verry happy with it.

Except for one thing: I can't get my GTX 980 to output full 3840x2160 (UHD) on 60hz. Only 30hz works.
But working with that refresh rate is not really pleasent..

I'm running 10.10.2 and installed the web drivers and the OS X cuda driver.
Enabled displayport 1.2 on the monitor and connected it with this cable.

What's also strange, is that everytime I switch to "Nvidia Web Driver" in the Nvidia settings, it returns to; "OS X Default Graphics driver" after rebooting.

Thanks!!

Currently there is no way to get 4k@60Hz on Maxwell cards under 10.10.2
Previous 10.10.1 can do it

From what I read around, this is true only for MST, SST monitors seem to work. But yeah, since the UP3214Q is MST that is indeed the sad truth.

So a Dell P2715Q would work ootb with a GTX760? no issues? I am about to get the monitor but need to make sure I don't get any surprises (sleep/wake, filckering, boot, 30hz, etc...)

Thanks

I think it should work! The UP3214Q is of course a different monitor with other specs, but both of them are 4K mst. Just keep in mind that you probably won't get 60hz on 10.10.2. I'm running it with 30hz now, and although I got very powerful system, everything feels a bit slow en sluggish on this refresh rate.

Is it true that SST monitors can do 4k @60Hz in 10.10.3 ?
Can anyone confirm this?

i have a Dell P2715Q 4K SST monitor and I'm about to get GTX 980.

a guy on ****** replied me that his setup works:

"Yes, I'm running 10.10.1 with a 980 and Asus PB287Q. 4k @ 60Hz works fine using the NVIDIA web driver. It actually doesn't give me any choice between 30/60Hz in the displays panel, but the System Information tool shows it is 60Hz.
edit:
Here is what System Information shows:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980:

Yes, I have P2415Q (just got it today). I'm running 10.10.3 with web driver 346.01.02f02 (latest), using GTX 750 Ti. I can get all of the following resolutions at 60Hz via DisplayPort SST:
1504x846 (screenshot size: 3008x1692)
1920x1080 (screenshot size: 3840x2160)
2304x1296 (screenshot size: 4608x2592)
2560x1440 (screenshot size: 5120x2880)
3008x1692 (screenshot size: 6016x3384)

That's great to hear! I'll be getting my 780 Ti back from the repair in a couple of weeks. I'll try asap and post results here
