No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Not open for further replies.
Not weird at all, predicable.
See Post #526, #528, #530.
Audio will never work with the disabler installed regardless of the install method.
Since you can not remove it, clean install is the last option.

Hey! I didn't want to clean install. I also had a hunch that it was a cloverefi problem so I thought I'll try chimera. It worked! I've got output devices with perfect sound. And I'm not using Chimera's HDA enabler and no HDEF layout injection using chimera either. I have my edited DSDT. I just had to patch AppleHDA using the latest multibeast. So the problem is definitely with clover. I need clover because my Windows partition is efi(Too lazy to go to boot. Can you figure out the problem with the cloverconfig? It's same as the previous post.

Thanks, the problem solved.
But the HDMI audio still not working

IOReg says Internal Speakers is selected and no audio is playing. What audio devices is selected in iTunes?

Wouldn't the audio device be selected through the system preferences/sound?
I tried to find how to select an audio device within iTunes, but wasn't able to find it.
If there is a way to do that, how do we do that within iTunes?

1. Audio devices detected, hear a faint chirp upon boot, no audio once booted/logged in.
2. OSX 10.10.2 Clover, GA-x99-UD4/BIOS F12/Intel 5820k/EVGA 970 Superclocked
3. Used Toleda’s guide https://github.com/toleda/audio_RealtekALC the https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC does not work at all for me.

NOTES:
-iTunes will open, I can select a song, it loads but never plays. Cannot Scrub.
-Same with YouTube.
-Audio works fine in Windows 8.1

I have been working to get my analog speakers working for two days. No luck. Been through your guide Toleda and I believe everything checks out. About to give up and go USB audio... :banghead:  It looks like my HDMI audio may work but I don't have any speakers connected to my HDMI display...

I did notice that my AppleHDA.kext was modified 1/27/15. So I am guessing that is newer than my OS X 10.10 (14A389)? Not really sure. I grabbed the OSX from App store back around Thanksgiving so technically it is I guess. Could that be my problem???

Please make sure I haven't missed anything. I have tried to include everything in the screenshots. Let me know if you need any more specific details. THANKS FOR THE HELP!

I did notice that my AppleHDA.kext was modified 1/27/15.
Post #1:
I. No Output Devices Found
5. System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext Verification
  1. AppleHDA.kext can be the same as or earlier than the installed OS X version
  2. AppleHDA.kext does not work if newer than the installed OS X version
Use MultiBeast 7.0.2

Hello,

After Toleda's advice, started over.

1. Audio Problem:
No audio devices show in SysPref/Sound - can hear "pop" from speakers on boot of system but think this is irrelevant.

2. System / OS Version
OSX Yosemite - 10.10.1 installed using this guide - http://rochetechnology.com/installi...over-uefi-including-x99-quick-hackintosh-tip/
Gigabyte X99-UD4 (F11 BIOS) - i7 5820k - GTX970 - 250Gb SSD - 2 TB HDD

3. Procedure
- reformat SSD drive
- install OS X from UNIBEAST drive (using npci=0x2000 nv_disable=1)
- kernel and kexts as per guide
- followed:
Clover
Installation (4 steps)

  1. Audio_ID Injection
    1. ssdt/x99/onboard and HDMI audio
      1. View attachment 111063
  2. Restart
    1. Verify IOReg/HDEF/layout-id/<01 00 00 00>
      1. No HDEF/Wrong layout-id, Audio_ID injection failed.
        1. Try Audio_ID Injection same/different method
        2. See Problem Reporting, below
  3. Codec Patch
    1. cloverALC/Clover patched
      1. Download/config-audio_cloverALC-x99.plist.zip (same as above)
        1. Add config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch/10.9.4-10.10-/x99 ALC Onboard Audio
      2. Download/Double Click/audio_cloverALC-100.command.zip
      3. ALC1150, see toleda/audio_CloverALC/README/Note 6.
  4. Restart
    1. Verify System Preferences/Sound/Output

- No audio at STEP 4 - in order to make things easier I then installed the web driver so I could actually use the CustoMAC
- Installed Nvidia Web Driver from http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/81212/en-us
- Updated config.plist to set nvda_drv = 1
