I recently built 2 Yosemite hackintoshes that work very well, for the most part. I am using theses as servers. I notice that after they have been up and running for a while 1 or both ethernet interfaces stop functioning. If I run "ifconfig enX down" followed by "ifconfig enX up" they will generally recover and work great for a while again. One is a GA-Z77X-UD5H and the other is a GA-Z77X-UD3H. Pretty new to this so please let me know what you would like in the way of details...Thanks in advance...

Same here. I've a GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 and figured it had something to do with the Atheros Killer E2201 chipset. I also had network problems when running Mavericks.

I tried the down/up with no luck. Only recovery is to restart.

Currently loading "AtherosE2200Ethernet v1.0.0d7" in MultiBeast. Tried the "Killer ALXEthernet v1.0.2" when running Mavericks and had trouble with that one too.

Unable to recreate the failure on demand. However, it seems to be related to either the total amount of traffic through the interface or possibly the total number of simultaneous IP connections.

The problem seems to occur most often when I'm copying multiple individual files to/from my NAS (ex: copy one large file to NAS, repeat three or four times, so there are multiple simultaneous transfers). It doesn't occur when I'm just reading e-mail or browsing the web.

Same here, random crashes, recovered by sudo ifconfig en0 down/up.
System: GA-Z87X-OC, Yosemite 10.10.1.
Tested all available kexts from Multibeast 7.0.x, for AppleIntelE100e (2.4.14, 2.5.4d, 3.0.4.1a, 3.1.0) and AppleIGB 5.2.9.4. . No "traces" in logs.
Same system ran perfect on Mavericks.
Any idea?

Same here. I too have a GA-Z77X-UD5H, and ethernet worked flawless under Mavericks. Are you running BIOS version F12? I've only been up and running for a couple of hours on Yosemite 10.10. I'll let you know if I stumble across a fix.

I'm still looking for a reason ... could be Little Snitch? I'm using it, do you?

I'm not using a hackintosh (mac mini) and I am seeing the same problems. Also running Little Snitch. Disabling Little Snitch doesn't seem to help nor does restarting my network interfaces. The only thing that seems to help is rebooting my system alltogether.

Had similar problem with internet on a Z77-DS3H. The actual problem was a random sudden increase in latency from ~20-40 msec to 600-2000 msec. I thought it might have been related to the Atheros kext, so put a Realtek nic in the computer. Unfortunately, this didn't really solve the problem. After some experimentation, including connecting the computer at a different location, I realize the problem isn't with the Atheros or Realtek nic cards. A Time Warner Cable tech thought it was the cable modem, so he replaced that. Increase in latency didn't resolve. Finally, a high[er] level tech troubleshooter ran a more extensive diagnostic between his location and my cable modem and discovered there was a) an unacceptable signal / noise ratio, and b) the receive signal is low, possibly due to a break in the cable shield, or water / corrosion somewhere in the cable run between their distribution drop and the house. Your problem may be completely different, and if so, sorry for the distraction. However, to see if latency is an issue, run a ping for a few hundred cycles (in a terminal session just ping some common location like google.com) and see what the roundtrip time is. It should be < 100 msec.

Success! Since my last posting, I upgraded to 10.10.1. I ran Multibeast again and used the old Driver: AtherosL1cEthernet 1.2.3.

Then I did this:

In system preferences I had to add Ethernet by the + option at the bottom of the window. [I also read a post on the Apple Forums that suggested I] click on Advanced>Renew DHCP Lease, and once I did that, i was able to access ethernet.

After all this, repair disk permissions, and restart. Success, I now have ethernet working.

All the other issues with sleep, wi-fi and USB have been resolved as well. I don't use imessage, so nothing to report there.

I followed both the Tonymacx86 guides for updating to 10.10, and 10.10.1. I glad I can stop banging my head against the wall!

I also updated to latest Yosemite and have tried all the kexts.

Yet when i transfer large files to/from the NAS, the network card stops working.
