Just for future reference, is this new BIOS update more negative than positive? (I don't have Windows on this laptop at all so I probably won't ever get around to installing it.)

Neutral so far. I looked at the diffs and there is definitely some changes/fixes in in DSDT.

hello bro,
i have followed you from a long time ago to installed Mac Os x on my lenovoU430P (no touch), every thing goes well.

today i have tried to use your new script to patch the DSDT... on the old BOIS, when i make disassemble.sh, it didn't create the unpatched file, show me the following message.

Non-ascii input file - SSDT1
+ for aml in '$list'

+ iasl -p ../unpatched/SSDT8.dsl -e DSDT SSDT1 SSDT2 SSDT3 SSDT4 SSDT5 SSDT6 SSDT7 SSDT9 -d -dl SSDT8

(i copied some rows of the terminal message.)

then i have used last version disassembled to make the patch, same goes well but only thing happened is when pc slipped, after wake up the USB2.0 mouse doesn't work, need to restart PC.

do you have some comments to help me? thank you.

Without the files you're using and the complete log, no idea...

The latest version of iasl (linked at github README) is required.

Do you still have GenericUSBXHCI.kext installed? If so, remove it. And make sure your DSDT patches are up-to-date based on current patches in the repo.

solved.
i have put isal to a wrong place.

Thank you

i'm working on the AR9280 now, hope everything goes well as now...

I did yesterday, and it seems with the new BIOS there are less SSDTs. The one with IAOE is gone from my Linux extract (and all other extraction methods). I've patched the DSDT (which still has references to it) such that it doesn't depend on it and it is working (sleep was the issue without IAOE).

Just wondering if anyone else can confirm (because maybe it was a BIOS setting I changed)...

Confirmed! Was wondering as well first. For my part I went back to the older BIOS-Version 7CCN35WW. I will try it again some time later with the newest version and patches.

FYI: I'm thinking of changing the DSDT patching scripts to use 'patchmatic -extract' instead of a Linux dump. This would allow DSDT extract/patching without using Linux...

Would be great.

Thanks for confirming. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't "seeing things."

Would be great.

It is workable, but it is a bit tricky to keep Clover from polluting the native files.

Yours has nvidia optimus, right? If you get a chance, post your native Linux files. Seems like it would be a good idea to disable nvidia.

Hold on - I looked on the changes of the tables between 7CCN35WW and 7CCN61WW again.
For 7CCN35WW my tables are showing 23 files and one folder called "dynamic". On 7CCN61WW I have 22 files and the "dynamic" folder. The missing file on the newest BIOS is named "SLIC" for me.
FYI - I don't have a "IAOE" file, neither on the old or the new BIOS-tables extract?!

Hope you meant the same thing. I don't have too much knowledge at all about this, so excuse me if I miss the topic.

I think now I know what you mean - IAOE inside the SSDT/DSDT files...?! IAOE stays the same in DSDT and SSDT6 file. But I will test again... Anyway - on the new BIOS there definitely is one SLIC file less ;)

On mine, the last SSDT, with IAOE device, is gone (ssdt6). I'll see if it is related to a BIOS option...

I updated to the newest BIOS again (xxx61). By disassembling the tables with your actual patchmatic/iasl - on the (unpatched) ssdt6 IAOE device definitely is gone! - And I haven't changed anything on my BIOS (except turning off SecureBoot). Hope that helps!
