NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for 10.10.0 (343.01.01f01) with 'Maxwell' GeForce GTX 970 and 980 Support

Hi all,

I was able to install the driver with the instructions found on this thread. The 970 works (I'm using displayport), but in the nvidia control panel, osx default graphics driver is always selected, no matter what I chose. Any idea on how to force the web driver?

Thanks!

use the bootflag nvda_drv=1
i think that forces it!

That's the thing though, that flag is enabled in my clover config! It's weird... Also, isn't the whole point of using the nvidia web driver because native does not work? Why is mine working? Maybe the control panel is showing the wrong information...

This is seriously screwed up. I installed the driver, shut down, inserted the 980 booted, and all was fine. Then the driver wanted to update, which I did, and now I can't get it to boot except in safe mode. Weird.

correct me if I'm wrong, But I don't think anyone as of yet has gotten their 9xx series cards to work through HDMI, I'm assuming same as other guy in the tread said, about it being HDMI 2.0 on the 9xx cards, so I guess we are awaiting nvidia to cook some HDMI 2.0 in the next up date of web drivers?
I have an Evga 980 and all Display ports and DVI works but HDMI out and of coarse Cuda. I even got 144hz to my gaming display @1080. I know its not the greatest but it's what its suppose to be

idk.. I can get HDMI to work but I see that I have to type nvda_drv=1 kext-dev-mode=1 -v -f into boot flags each time. Putting it in chameleon boot plist doesn't work, i have to type it every time for some reason. nv_disable=1 never worked for me either. Pretty frustrating because I only have HDMI ports on my Playstation monitor

I just had quite a scare after the update to 343.01.01f03.

After updating to version f03 I couldn't boot and was shown the prohibitory symbol when booting with clover. Interestingly, I could still boot using chimera. I downgraded the web driver and the issue disappeared. Version f02 works fine, must be some sort of conflict between f03 and clover??

Looks like I will be sticking with f02 for a while

phillymavs32 i had the same problem as you, all works smooth in verbose mode, i've added "verbose mode" in multibeast (customize->boot options) and its booting now without white screen and after all works perfect (even with the newest nvidia web driver 01f03)

in boot playlist looks like this: <string>kext-dev-mode=1 -v nvda_drv=1</string>

BTW... is it ok guys, to boot in this verbose mode?

EDIT: after a while i've started to recieve an error "A graphics problem has been detected." and immediately log out...

i've used this method for that: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6596475?start=0&tstart=0 so far works, even benchmarking (before, when gtx90 started to work "harder" that error appears)

"What I did :

1. Clean install of Yosemite with Clover, without the video card.
2. Add nv_disable=1 in boot args
3. Connect the card
4. Reboot
4. Install the latest NVIDIA Web Drivers
5. Remove nv_disable=1, add nvda_drv=1
6. Reboot, but don't connect your screen to the video card yet.
7. Go into the bios and disable IGFX, select PCIe 1st slot as the first selection. This will enable the bios to be displayed on your main screen connected to the video card. Now you can connect your screen to the video card.
8. Boot into OSX, this will now be even faster than before :)"

I'm considering getting a gtx750 ti also, have you experienced the fans at full blast and no signal through HDMI on your clover install?
