NO SOUND on Yosemite.

@antbanks24

thanks for your advice... I boot properly now on Yosemite... BUT I have no sound...
I tried to reinstall the ALC889 driver for my motherboard.... but no way, still no sound, any idea?

Is there a compatibility problem between "ALC889 driver" and 10.9.5 "AppleACPIPlatform Rollback"?
Sound is ok on my Mavericks instal... same computer, other disk...

Thanks for any helps!

If you see under Audio in System Information the audio lines of the audio chipset then the Multibeast ALC 889 kext works as expected. Ensure you select the proper output in the Sound section in Settings.

Where is this? Multibeast, system preferences?

@marcoscar

Go into your System Preferences and click on your sound icon.

Your Sound options should look like this. I have attached some screenshots. I thought I had the same problem but the sound wasn't configured correctly in the settings.

Good luck!

Hi everyone…. I come back with new trouble on my Yosemite System !!

I was running on Yosemite yesterday evening, I didn't reboot my computer…. just shut down.
If i'm not wrong, I think I booted on my HDD Yosemite using my USB bootable Key, to be able to choose it and run multibeast to customize it to fix my boot problem…

Today I wanted to boot directly on my Yosemite HDD but I can't, I got :
Can't find / mach_kernel
press key to continue

I booted with "-v" and I got :
loading Darwin 10.1
No kernel Cache File "/ System / library / caches / com.apple.kernelcaches / .87061B51" found

After that, I tried to use my USB key to boot and choose my Yosemite HDD… as I did several times before…
But I have the same message, after booting on my USB KEY :
Can't find / mach_kernel
press key to continue

I booted with "-v" on my USB key, and i got :
loading kernel / mach_kernel
Can't find / mach_kernel
press key to continue

Does anyone has an idea to fix this problem?
How explain that I can't boot anymore on my USB key? this is the first time I see that…
Should I create a new bootable USB Key?

Thanks for reading my posts and helping… as usual!

I think it is important to remember that it is very early days for Yosemite. Mavericks works so well because there has been time to fix all the problems. If you want to be an early adopter, you must expect hassle as par for the course.

I have a Yosemite build on another drive, that works pretty well. After a week it will work better. And after a month it will work great. Down to the great work the tonymac people put in.

Actually, I am not sure if I like Yosemite that much, iTunes is a dog.

For sound on a Hack though, you should always have a usb sound unit just in case...

@HappyJack247

I know it is very early days for Yosemite... and I have 2 differnet drives, the first with mavericks which work perfectly, and a second with the early Yosmite hack! I juste want to see it run on my computer and see if it 's really better than mavericks...

If I poste here, it's just to understand how a system can run one day and not the day after...

SO if anyone has other advice for my other post... I'm ready to try!

Thanks

Hey all, I am having the issue where there is no output devices being shown in the list no matter which realtek codec I choose. I have a P8P67 B3 Asus board and I was curious if anyone has figured out a work around?

I also have the Asus p8p67 pro revB3 board and have no audio using alc892.I have tried everything in the toleda posts with no luck.

I'm having the same issue here, I'm able to boot into Yosemite USB, install the OS and then boot into the OS itself. Then, I install an ethernet driver with Multibeast, and the next time I try to boot into Yosemite, it blocks during the loading. I tried with a few different drivers, and nothing works. After a few minutes wait, I end up with an interdiction sign. From that point, I have to reboot into the USB and start over the whole process. Maybe some boot flags would help, but nothing has helped yet. At this point, I'm thinking of going back to Mavericks to get my computer to work.
Does anyone have any idea about a solution? I have a Gigabyte UP5-TH as a motherboard and an Intel i7.

Thanks
