Related but maybe not. Anyone noticing any stability issues with 10.8.3?
The machine will usually run fine for 2-3 days but then out of the blue it won't wake up from sleep.
Also if i have a graphics intensive application stop working the system will appear fine until i launch a new tab in chrome at which time the whole system hangs.

The system log after my last crash had this error:
3/29/13 7:38:14.000 AM kernel[0]: NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0x1f = Fifo: MMU Error

which i am assuming is related.

I have a geforce 660 ti with 2 gig of memory and the on board intel hd 4000 video enabled in order to use airplay. Although i can't use airplay anyway as i am using the MacPro 3,1 profile and for whatever reason it doesn't work when i have this profile selected. I am toying with the idea of turning off the intel video for now to see if this helps stabilize the environment, but i was curious if it was just me having issues or if others were seeing this too.

running 10.8.2

f12e bios

was at f11 but flashed up, having same issues across the board.

can boot of unibeast usb stick no issues, install no issues. but after trying 3 different versions of chimera i still have the same problems.

after MB and Chimera install, i'm stuck on apple logo after reboot trying to boot off the hd.

other main issues

graphics display shows as integrated graphics not hd4000, only using the dvi port on the mobo right now.
my chameleon boot plist doesn't appear in my extra folder.

i can get past the apple logo if install fake smc but osx freezes when i plug in a thumb drive...

system def set to imac 13.2 right now, have tried several others, all the same reoccurring issue.

does not boot with -x either.

did a -v hangs up at

acpi_smc_platformplugin: :registerLPCDriver - failed to locate smc driver

any ideas?

Re-install, following my installation for HD4000 in the 1st post - both BIOS setup and use the same MultiBeast configuration. Use the "UserDSDT or DSDT-Free Installation" defaults, like I did. (See page 3 of the MultiBeast Features document for a list of the defaults). Don't - I repeat - don't change the default System Definition (MacPro3,1) for now. Let's get your installation working before you start customizing.

Report back after you've re-installed Mountain Lion.

thanks for that! got it working great off the hd4000. booted up just fine on it's own, even got the system def to see it as a imac. doing everything one step at a time like you said.

now the next hurtle of trying to get it to work with a discrete graphics card. my new issue is that when i set my bios to use igfx first, internal graphics enabled, and pop in my gtx 580 my system won't post at all. it just stays on a black screen on boot. i take out the 580 it boots just fine. any ideas on what's going on now? i flashed back to f11 with no luck... trying to think of what i can change in the bios to fix this.

I can't help you as I've never used a nVidia 500 series graphics card. Try booting with GraphicsEnabler=No. If it works, then either run MultiBeast and only select GraphicsEnabler=No (see the MultiBeast Features document for where this option is located) or use TextEdit to add the following to your /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plst:

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>No</string>

If GraphicsEnabler=No doesn't work, look for a Golden or User Builds build description that includes an Ivy Bridge with a nVidia 500 series graphics card.

Good luck.

the issue isn't getting into mac os via bootloader, the issue is that when i first press the power button i don't see my system post at all. it acts like it's not plugged into a display at all. and i give it time and it doesn't try to auto load into mac os...

Stork my 650Ti is showed as d14p2-30 in 10.8.3 did u fix that or is only cosmeting thing....
I play one game in OSX League of legends and with my old GTX 460 1GB i was getting ~100fps on full max.
Now with 650Ti i get only ~40-50 fps (in windows i get ~120-30) thats a real problem for me and i dont know how to fix this ... Everything else works perfect.
