Got it up and running using clover

Used the same commands as this guy http://jollyjinx.tumblr.com from another installation, and used CCC to put the files back. Then i mounted the EFI partition and copied Clover to that.

So it must be a problem with Chimera...

Interesting- what size volumes are you using? Maybe we can figure out the issue so that Chameleon/Chimera users can boot a "fusion" volume.

Apple's New Fusion Drive Works on Older Macs

"Mac developer Patrick Stein has been toying with his own Mac Pro setup and has managed to build his own Fusion Drive using command line tools. Stein configured an internal solid-state drive and a USB-attached traditional hard drive on his system and was able to combine them into a single logical volume as used for Fusion Drive.
Attached are a 120GB SSD (disk1) and a 750GB HDD (disk7) to my Mac. I attached the SSD via SATA to be sure that the system could figure out that it’s a SSD via SMART. The HDD is attached via USB. USB I chose to clearly see a difference in speed."

Oh you're right, I was wondering why was so unproductive.

I never called you unproductive. If you re-read what I wrote you will see that. I am just clearly stating that just because you can do it manually and yes can do it better than any algorithm can ever devise, doesn't mean it doesn't have a place and isn't a useful technology. By all means please continue to spend your time however you choose. I welcome the algorithm with open arms as anything that will give me more time for either work or fun is always welcome in my life.

More like people who don't care to spend their free time managing files but rather doing things that are actually productive.

There's no extra file management necessary when you do things the way cseistrup described (which is identical to my setup, except my home folder is on a 750GB hybrid drive, so I get the best of both worlds) - and I'm very productive.

There is if you have apps that put stuff in user/app support when they aren't supposed to, i.e, Steam. My Home folder is huge because of this. I know you can get around it using symlinks, but it's a hassle.

I dont see Apple making this a simple disk utility button. We will probably have to set this up with the Terminal CS commands. No idea yet if we can boot with this configuration from a Hack'.

I tried this on my macbook pro with a fresh install.
Just formatted both disks in the diskutil, then opened the terminal up during the installer and fired up those commands.
Seems to work like a charm.

However, I haven't tested it out on my hackintosh yet.
However I do plan on trying it this weekend.

I'm still waiting some return avec few months of testing this new Fusion Drive.
Just to see how the SSD will live. (or die)
I read somewhere else that it's moving file (in and out) every 10 min. I guess it might shorten the SSD life.

But if it gives me a really big improvement (and less hassle, from a manual moving of the files), I don't mind changing my SSD avec 2 or 3 years.

I can't wait to see to tweaking software, out there to do this without the Terminal commands.
