GA-Z77M-D3H
OCZ 120g SSD
MSI AMD Radeon HD 6850
No DSDT.
GraphicsEnabler =yes

Installed Mountain Lion using Ati6000controller.kext fix.
Works good, 38fps on Cinebench.
But when I hooked up second monitor with hdmi
I had to use framebuffers "duckweed" to get it to work.
Now in "about Mac" it displays my 6850 as 6xxx
Not sure why but with No framebuffers it displays AMD RADEON HD 6850 but
With only 1 monitor. I tried all the framebuffers with no luck.

Any ideas or should I not worry about it.

Im not using any frame buffers and my card is reading 6850. Maybe a simple question. Are the monitors connected before you boot?

Did you replace the 6000 kext with the stock one from the installer after completing the installation?

First off, I have the same GPU and I get about 50 fps with cinebench.

As for the 6xxx thingy, you need to do a fresh install again but this time do the following...

1. With the ML USB installer in hand, unhide the hidden files in the USB installer under System>Library>Extensions
2. Look for the ATI6000Controller.kext file
3. Copy that file onto another USB or external drive.
4. After copying it, delete the ATI6000Controller.kext file inside the USB installer.
5. Use the USB installer to install ML to your HDD.
6. Once ML is installed in your HDD, boot into it with GraphicsEnabler=No (at the chimera boot loader).
7. Get your copy of the ATI6000Controller.kext file and install it in your ML HDD. If you don't know how to properly install a kext file use KextDrop as an alternative. Simply copying the kext file into the HDD (in the S>L>E folder) probably won't work.
8. Reboot your customac and you're done :thumbup:

Keep in mind that the kext deletion method is only a last resort. You will probably have behavior problems with that installation. With an i3 your options are limited to swapping out to a known supported card and then swapping back in your 6850 after install...people have reported 8400GS and 9500GT success.

@Wildwillow

With no framebuffers It will recognize my card correctly. But only 1 DVI port will work.

I used the Sparkle 9400GS worked like a charm, then swapped back after installation. :D

@adam1203
I did replace the kext with the one from the Unibest installer after install
