New install for ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 w/i7-13700K CPU

Sorry, forgot to say that you need to have a GitHub account to download the kext. Copy of latest attached below.
Ah...Thanks for the kext. I did login and saw that it was a link. Sigh...

Stay tune for feedback tomorrow.
Wahoo! Graphics with the RX 6700 XT works! Thank you all.

Next...I have no audio. I have the audio cable plugged into the "lime" speaker port on the rear panel. I do not have an "alcid" defined in the config.plist > NVRAM > 7C436110... > boot-args.

Layout ID will be one of these with your ALC1220A codec.

layout 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15, 20, 21

I would try alcid=13 first, as your system is not to different to the Asus ProArt Z690-Creator WiFi, which was created by CaseySJ.

If that doesn't work then try the generic ID's 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7. The rest are custom layout-ids.

I tried your suggestion, rebooting after resetting NVRAM. However, no joy on any of the alcids. It's either that my USB is not booting the system, or I have something wrong in my config.plist. Assuming the later, I've attached my EFI w/o serials. Please review as I think it's something simple. TIA.

Hi Stork, when you say your USB may not be booting are you selecting it from the boot menu. Hit F12 to show all boot options and then find your USB. If it doesn't start to load then somethings up. I noticed you have a bit of house keeping to get to eventually, lots of remnants and unneeded entries in your config.plst (most disabled and so unnecessary). I noticed you have two sets of CPUFriendData.kext enabled, you'd only want one, I left one enabled in the attached and added the Alcid=13 boot argument.
It could be you don't have the USB Audio device properly mapped and of course it won't work until that's changed.

Are you adding the Audio code properties via the DeviceProperties section or the boot args option? The later is preferred when testing out ID's for your setup.

Do you have both an Intel and Broadcom WiFi/BT card in your setup?
Are both active when you boot your system?

I have gone through your EFI and removed everything I think as unnecessary and all the elements you had set to disabled/false. So the EFI is a lot smaller in size.

Screenshot 2023-11-04 at 19.06.38.png Revised EFI folder contents, viewed in Finder.

I have removed all the DeviceProperties from the config.plist, along with all the other unused items.
I have replaced AppleALCU.kext with AppleALC.kext.
I have added alcid=13 boot argument for your audio, not sure if you have already tried this.

Rename the folder to EFI and add your iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS data to the config.plist, don't change anything else.

Try booting this revised EFI from a spare USB pen drive, using the ResetNvramEntry from the OC boot screen before you boot in to macOS Sonoma.

@Leesureone and @Edhawk,

I'll try both your solutions tomorrow morning. Thanks so much for your help.
