The M1 Max in my Mac Studio does a lot better than that in Geekbench 5.

Yes, I know it. Only I did my tests and got different results. In my tests, the RX 6600 XT was better. But I won't quibble. My tests are not systematic. They differ in the systems used, Geekbench 5 versions, and hell knows what else.
In fact, it doesn't matter to me that the M processor has a good result, I just won't do anything about it, I need a better card for games on a different system

Just grab one when you can. I don't think there will be enough new RX 6000 series cards later this year.

coming back about my dual 6900xt (GIGABYTE GV-R69XTAORUSX WB-16GD)
So far so good: 249050 / each card on GeekBench 6
recognized and both used same time with metal3 on DaVinci 18,1
highly recommended for workstation

strange point: recognized as 2720MHz on Luxmarx

Just thought I'd update you, I have ordered a replacement card but I need my workstation. So I did some more troubleshooting and found that adding a fan on top of the card helps the card, so I'm not sure if its just heat related and high temperatures here in the UK as its been around 31c/87f in my area but I can say that the card is overheating even though I've replaced the Thermal paste.

Yes as the intel mac are limited to 69x0 GPU: how you can have more?
My point is the 6950xt is 244k, my 6900xtht watercooled: 249k! Always good to have 5000 points more per card

As I said before this is the end of the intel mac (now it is 100% sure) maybe few iterations of Mac OS and done!

The 69x0xt are the best GPU u can find for workstation.
best time to buy one (or 2) before price increase again
I am ok for thé next years

what about case air flow?
You changed thermal paste on the card and adding fans help the card!
I guess the flow of air of your case is not great at all
