you checked in windows to make sure?

if not then brightness controls won't work with nvidia

I did check it. Oh really? Okey that is not a big problem, my biggest problem is fans that are too loud. That is why I uploaded my files and asked for somebody with same model with mostly silent performance.

By the way, thank you for your help Feartech. Do you have this laptop?

nope, mine is completely different, i disabled my nvidia and used intel graphics, have brightness controls and also the fans are quiet due to not having nvidia

not sure that i can help

but needed to know that you didn't have nvidia as a lot of peeps think they only have nvidia when most also have intel as well

Maybe I should double check it just in case, how do you usually check it on windows? On device manager maybe?I am quite sure my laptop is only nvidia but I will check it again.

ahh, ok, I had to check! :)

unless there is a BIOS setting that you can disable nvidia and use intel, but i doubt there would be an option. asus may have completely disabled the intel though

I read on some forums that in this model and some other Asus decided to buy intel chips with no graphics in order to lower the cost. This device has g-sync so is not optimus compatible, therefore, no igpu needed. I don't know if this is completely true, but could be.

And Feartech, do you know somebody with this same or similar laptop that could help me with loud fans performance? Because it seems that we are the online active users on this chat hahaha

not sure I do know anyone, you may have to search around for some answers.

out of interest, is it noisy when using Windows for awhile? when you perform the same tasks?

Not sure, why? If I optimize windows would Mac OS optimize at the same time? On dualboot, does windows performance affect Mac OS?
