Hi everyone — I'm at my wits end trying to solve this and the community has really helped me before.

My system is fairly old these days but here it is:

High Sierra 10.13.6 (Only way I could get CUDA to work for 3D/Blender)
Core i7 3770k
MSI GTX 680
ASUS P8Z77-V Pro Motherboard
Samsung 1TB 840 EVO SSD

I have everything set up and working properly apart from the USB 3 ports on the back of the motherboard — the main issue I'm facing is that the computer doesn't shut down properly, the screens turn off but the computer is still 'running'.

I've attached my clover config.plist if anyone would be willing to take a look, I would really appreciate it.

All the best,
Andrew

Thank-you for linking this Feartech — I followed the guide, mapped all of my ports and generated the kext, when it exported the kext it also patched my config.plist, now my computer won't boot into High Sierra and Clover seems to be extremely slow. Any ideas?

Edit: I reverted to the original config and it now boots — but the shutdown problem still seems to exist, could it be anything else?

there was no need to patch config.plist after you have created your USB ports, apart to remove the port limit patches

Hi Feartech — just edited my post above and didn't see your reply, I've reverted to the old config and it boots again, but the shutdown issue still exists — clover/booting is noticeably slower than before too, like everything seems to be on a lag?

I reverted my USB kexts as it seems to boot faster with them — if anyone else has ideas on why the machine doesn't shut down properly it'd be really helpful.

Sometimes adding EmuVariableUEFI.efi to the Clover drivers can have a positive impact on shutdown issues.

Hi P1LGRIM,

Thanks for your suggestion — I've added that but still no dice. Also thank-you for removing my previous reply/question without any reason why, brilliant forum moderation.

still no dice
How many were you expecting ?

Also thank-you for removing my previous reply/question without any reason why, brilliant forum moderation.
It wasn't me but it broke the forum rules so you have no complaint there.
If I had seen it I would have removed it too.

If it did then my bad — it would have been helpful for whoever did remove it to point out the rule which it broke. To me it was a simple question related to the topic.

I'll just take this as an unsolvable problem for now.
