Hello did you mean GT640 or GT650?iMac13,x are using Kepler based Nvidia Graphics card, they are officially supported
GT 640 is working fine out of the box in Catalina 10.15.0
If it's got a GK 107 core, not GK 106 it will work with Mojave and Catalina. You can research your specific make of GT650 to find out what it is. Try the manufacturer's website or if you have Windows run GPU-Z to find out if it's got a GK 107 core.GTX 650 is natively supported in everything up to 10.14.6 Mojave, is this still the case in 10.15 Catalina? Have read some conflicting information.
Well, seems I'm in luck, managed to install 10.15 with this card and all good. Phew!If it's got a GK 107 core, not GK 106 it will work with Mojave and Catalina. I have GK 106 GTX 650 Ti and it's working fine with Mojave and probably will work with Catalina as well.If it's got a GK 107 core, not GK 106 it will work with Mojave and Catalina. Good to know. The primary issue with GK106 based GPUs is the Vram memory leakage. It may be that MSI used different memory than what was used by other manufacturers. Maybe that it's only 1GB ? It could be some other reason, anyway you got lucky.I have GK 106 GTX 650 Ti and it's working fine with Mojave and probably will work with Catalina as well.
Thanks. Maybe it's because of a memory difference or firmware. I flashed my fw to make it have full UEFI support. That fw, as far as I remember wasn't official or modified version of an official fw back in the day. Maybe it's related to fw. Or since mine is factory Overclocked version of 650 Ti as in "GTX 650 Ti PE O.C." maybe that's make it work, idk. What I can suggest any 650 or 650 Ti owner, without telling them "IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE! GO GET A COMPATIBLE ONE!", just try it. What do you lose by trying, right? When I'm told it is not compatible I almost gave up installing hackintosh at all, then I searched a little bit and saw some people have it worked without any issue and talked them, got confirmation and then decided to gave it a try. So, Graphics compatibility guide needs to state that "while some cards are not compatible, some are" instead of calling the card incompatible.Good to know.
