[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Thanks @Leesureone for the new EFI with Clover 5097. I took a look in Clover Configurator for the "boot argument lilucpu=10" you mention for the Iris 655 addition. Am I in the wrong area I don't see the boot argument there. Just trying to understand the change you did really. See pic attached. The only change I did to the config.plist is my serial. I know you said you don't use Clover Configurator.
He removed that boot argument, not added it :). You also have a NUC8i7BEH, right? Mine does not boot for the life of god without boot argument "slide=0" (I have no idea what it does)

I copied the EFI folder and changed nothing but the serial and my system boots fine without changes. No idea why yours doesn't. Thanks for the updated EFI folder with cpu etc tweak.
It boots, with "slide=0" and that has been so for me since the beginning of the hackingtosh journey, no idea why.

Your a clever guy @Leesureone I'll be trying this EFI for sure. Once Catalina gets a few patches and is more mature you need to write a Catalina Guide. Once Multibeast and Unibeast for Catalina come out. Only if you have the time that is. The problem is this guide is NUMBER 1 result when you search in google so that is why I and others came here.

Doesn't have to be a big guide like Rehabman's but somewhere to link with updated info and EFI folder. And you are never allowed to retire like Rehabman or our NUC's wont' work lol.
For what purpose do you use Multibeast or Unibeast? The only tool I use is Clover Configurator (and occasionally hackintool to rebuild kext cache when I had my kext in L/E, which I don't have anymore)

For UEFI downloads. But from the revision of 1887, it should be set automatically if necessary. Apparently it doesn't work for you

They are tools developed by this site. Unibeast guide is for making a Hackintosh usb install usb. If you click the "installation guide" at the very top of the page there are instructions on that.

But you and I have not had to use them because be were very lucky and Leesureone id all the trick stuff and shared his very stable EFI folder with us.

Multibeast is a POST install tool which again we have not had to do because of Leesureone's hard work and generosity.

Here is the Mojave Unibeast guide at the top of the page. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ojave-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.259381/

At some time I'm guessing Multibeast tool and Unibeast and Guides will be put up for those wanting to try installing Catalina on more unique hardware. We are also lucky that their is a guide for NUC7 and NUC8 computers.

Try this EFI folder and then rerun the benchmark. Changed memory drivers, eliminated the boot argument lilucpu=10 and updated Clover. In Geekbench 4 I didn't make any difference but it almost doubled the result in 5. Its just a benchmark but maybe it will help in game play.

@Leesureone what did you do different in this EFI version. I have a usb corded mouse and if you bump it on the desk it wakes Catalina from sleep. This AMAZING version doesn't wake my MAC from sleep which I looked everywhere on how to do that. Can you tell me what you do to stop the MOUSE waking the MAC up? A mouse click or keyboard press still works which is great.
In Windows you can just go into Device manager and untick a box for this and it was easy. I was accidently waking my MAC all the time and it was a hassle.

Can you explain a bit more? What is uefi downloads and revision 1887 of what?

I want this over BT currently I still have to press the power button of the nuc. I hope it works when I use the internal BT when I receive the cable (currently still using the dongle)

There's an EFI folder with latest clover in post #1695 :).

But a general statement for everybody doing hackintosh: You need to configure your SMBios individually to get most of the icloud stuff working! This describes the process quite ok: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-how-to-configure-your-systems-smbios-correctly.198155/ (Clover Configurator has been updated but the process is still ok).
Note: evertime you create a new SmUUID for wathever reason, delete the old device from your icloud to keep things clean and tidy (also if you have used the default values from Clover by accident it's a bitch to get it deleted). So this process is very important.

I fixed Post and page number to Post #1,695 and Page 170.

Thanks for picking that up. I corrected my question. I did a bit of reading about "slide=0" and some systems don't boot without it is all I could find out why. Especially as we have identical hardware NUCi7BEH. Let me know if you ever find out. I'll do some more reading for personal learning.
