The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

I don't have wifi card i'm speaking about the internal one the board has wifi and bluetooth also I bought fenvi t919 but it's still in shipping, and I don't have windows only MacOs Mojave installed on it

The Fenvi card you mention will work but not on this motherboard. I’ve got one like it on another system. The issue is you need an open pcie or pci slot and there aren’t any. Follow Modmikes advice and get a DW1560 card if you want WiFi and Bluetooth working. I paid $32 for mine. If you just want Bluetooth there are usb dongles that work fine but you won’t have continuity.

I don’t recommend WiFi/Bluetooth dongles. You will likely get sleep/wake issues if you use them. Go for DW1560.

I was struggling with the DW1560 card for a bit and during that time an Asus Bluetooth dongle worked great. No issues at all. Your experience may vary o_O

Just wanted to tell that following this guide, I was able to install my first Hackingtosh on the first try.
Thank you for the detailed guide!

@ModMike Ufff nice work! Congratulations! The best tutorials I found on the web. I can't wait to start my build. I had everything, just I am waiting for the WiFi card DW1560 on the way. However, I am not planning to use a graphic card. Do you thing I should need it to work correctly? Can I add it later and install the propers kexts?

I recently decided to upgrade my build with a new CPU and Motherboard. But after doing the set up here I can’t get it to boot. When they have you do the RC6 and DVMT settings, I don’t see that in the new motherboard.

I decided to boot into Verbose and I get the last line reading:
“Apfs_module_start:1279: load: com.apple.filesystem.apfs, v748.51.0, 748.77.0, 2018/06/21”

The previous hardware was:
Asus Hero Maximus 9
Intel 6700k

New Hardware:
Asus Strix z390-i
BIOS version: 2.20.1271
Intel 8700k

I believe I was on OS 10.13 and it was running smoothly before the update. Any ideas?
@lifedrinker, its a little hard to know where things are going sideways from the description provided. First up, the BIOS version mentioned in your post is older. 2401 is the newest version and has the settings you are missing. Updating the BIOS should help you there.

Are you trying for a fresh install or updating hardware and then trying to update to Mojave with an updated EFI from the guide? I’m guessing the former...

Hello All,

I'm having a very strange issue with my build. More often than not, when I go to boot the system, I get a black screen and a circle with a diagonal line through it. The system, when it does start, works great with all 3 monitors and no other issues. My build is one that stated with UniBeast and MultiBeast but I have repaired it as per this guide. Any Ideas out there?

Thanks a million Mike for the guide...in all the years doing this it is by far the most concise and simple.

Also...if I'm not mistaken I believe this is my first post ever...if not, the first it has been many years!! I always try to read everything I can find first but haven't been able to find any info on this one.

Thx again in advance!

Hi @Kently11, I had the same issue with a similar but different Gigabyte board. The fix for me was in the BIOS settings. Hold down the Delete key at boot, and then in the BIOS under the "BIOS" heading up top choose to disable "CSM Support". That's all it took for me, see if it works for you.

Hi Leesureone,

Interesting that you would mention that setting...I have been trying various iterations surrounding that specific setting and am still getting intermittent results!! Sometimes it will boot with CSM enabled and other times it will boot with it disabled!! Strangely enough my High Sierra install ( separate drive ) is doing the same thing!! Wouldn't you know...the win doze install( a third separate drive) always works!! I'm seriously considering paring down to 1 install to see if I can get it consistent!!
