[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Hey!

So I followed the guide and apparently everything went well but I have a weird problem at the end.

There's flickering in my screen whenever there's movement, with flickering I mean white horizontal lines that appear and disappear.

The weird thing is that this were not present when I booted from the usb, so I assume it's a problem with the config.plist? or maybe related to graphics? I'm not sure since I'm completely new to hackintosh so I'd appreciate someone's help.

I attached the fail report files

I am running a NUC8i5BEK1 with 16GB of corsair ddr4 ram and a wd black nvme ssd.

You're going to need to provide a lot more detail than what you just said. Screenshots, config.plist, and follow RehabMan's rules for posts requesting help.

A question for Rehabman.

You wrote:

Some notes on the NUC8i7BEH

- use the nuc8 variant plists (config_install_nuc8_bc.plist, config_nuc8_bc.plist)

Could you tell me the difference between config_install_nuc8_bc.plist and config_nuc8_bc.plist (i.e.when to use either one or the other config.plist)?

Thanks in advance.

This is my first Hackintosh. With all the hoops I've had to jump through it might be my last.

I followed this guide to the end but now my NUC7i5BNH won't boot without the Clover EFI USB drive inserted. I get a black screen that just says "A bootable device has not been detected." I found another thread that mentioned this specific error but following that thread I just get "fdisk440: command not found."

Any ideas? Please explain in as little jargon as possible what I should try.

Booting into single user mode and exiting worked around the language page reboots I was always seeing

Thank you so much. This literally got me to the desktop after hours of other attempts!

One thing I forgot to include. Without the installer stick, booting to the internal drive, even in safe mode, results in a BSOD.

So let me get this straight...

In order to run MacOS on my Intel NUC I will always need to use the Clover EFI USB stick? Doesn't sound like a complete installation...

Not sure how people are succeeding with this build. I followed instructions verbatim and ended up with a failed build.

Hello, my setup : NUC7 BNH and Mojave 10.14.2
I've followed this guide (which is excellent), Hibernate was disabled using pmset

I've got a little issue, it's related to sleep / power-saving

Sometimes, when waking up, the HDMI monitor isn't turned on properly and there's garbage onscreen.
This happen when the computer was asleep for a long period ( 1h+ ), if woken up right after sleep = no problem.

By googling this look like a common (HDMI hardware?) issue on Intel NUC and unrelated to operating system : Windows & Linux are affected.

The only solution that I've found
* Disable sleep from the Apple menu
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist SystemPowerSettings -dict SleepDisabled -bool YES
* Using an app called 'Amphetamine' that keeps computer running but at least turn the monitor OFF after few minutes

If someone knows a better solution I would be glad to learn it.
