10.13.5 USB 3 issues

Hello

I have some issues with USB3.

All the USB ports are working.
USB2 ports without any issues.

USB3 ports are working with USB2 devices only.
When I connect an USB3 device it will not be detected.
When I plug an USB2 switch between USB3 port and USB3 device it's working with USB2 speed well.


Any idea?

Essential kexts (only) should be in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other and all of the 10.* folders should be deleted.
May need PMHeart’s patch to remove XHCI USB Port Limit.

Your motherboard has both Intel (supported) and ASMedia (unsupported) USB controllers :

• ASMedia® ASM2142 Chipset
- 1 x USB 3.1 Gen2 (SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps) Type-C port on the back panel
- 1 x USB 3.1 Gen2 (SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps) Type-A port on the back panel

• Intel® Z270 Chipset
- 4 x USB 3.1 Gen1 (SuperSpeed USB) ports (2 Type-A ports on the back panel, 2 ports available through the internal USB connector)
- 4 x USB 2.0 (High-speed USB) ports (2 Type-A ports on the back panel, 2 ports available through the internal USB connector)

You may need GenericUSBXHCI.kext to enable the ASMedia ports.

Thanks for the reply! Strangely those USB-C and USB-A 3.1 works out of the box for me.

just updated the kexts folder like this (10.13 is empty now) is this correct?

No.

all of the 10.* folders should be deleted

Update: the generic one caused boot issue so i had to remove it
Update#2: removing those 10.x folder didnt work for me either

What is the nature of this 'boot issue' ?

No expectation of it 'working' but it may speed up your boot time (when you eventually get around to it).
