Hi All,

Ive run into an issue with my installer. I cant seem to see a HDD as one of the options. The BIOS sees the HDD, Clover see's the HDD (After failed install, Just got a Cross where the apple logo should be so trying to do a fresh install)

When entering disk utility in installer noting shows up. Even with the command line.

- SATA-100-series-unsupported.kext. is in the correct place.

I did have everything working initally but wanted to do a fresh install. Have a mac bootable USB. When booting into it it also does not show the HDD.

Any help would be great. At the moment i have a xps with 8gb storage :(

"Problem Reporting" files are incomplete (you forgot to press F2, therefore misc/preboot.log is missing).
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

C) SATA M.2 drive (like all the Samsung 850 series M.2 drives)
These drives are a tad slower but work almost natively. Power management works very good. If you plan a SSD upgrade, go for this kind of drives, you'll experience 10% more battery life and completely cold bottom lid.
Remember to enable trim by typing: sudo trimforce enable.

@bozma88 do you know if the Samsung 860 evo is also like this or is it only the 850 series?

I have tried rebooting the system and pressing F2 over and over again with different variations (Fn + F2) but cant seem to find the preboot file in the EFI/CLOVER/MISC folder.
I did however generate the boot log via the clover configurator. Same thing?
I have placed it in the MISC folder.

Likely an NVMe issue.

I reckon it's only for Samsung 850, due to the fact that it's operating on SATA. Since 950 and 960 are NVMes, we won't get that extra battery life.

Sorry I put the wrong numbers. I meant are the 860 evo like the 850 but I think I found my answer on newegg. They are SATA as well. Sorry to have troubled anyone.

Can't say for sure, but I bet PM will be as good as with the 850.
Give it a try and eventually return and swap for an 850 (almost identical performance).
To check if PM is working, just place your finger on the controller. If it's hot, PM is not working.
