Hi all, I've been making and updating Hackintoshes since the days of the smaller of the big cats, but I'm getting to the stage where I don't know what to do. My Skylake set up that was so perfect under Sierra does not want to update to High Sierra 10.13.2 or 3 no matter what I do.
I've got a GTX750 card in, and I know that this can cause problems, but I can't find a definitive way to install with either the built in graphics or the Zotac card I've got. None of the other threads are solved, completely, and it seems people are happy to stay with Sierra.
Not me. Does anyone have a guide, or some explanation as to what I'm doing wrong?
Briefly - the installation never completes with the discrete graphics, and it won't even start properly with the IGFX.
Thanks all :)

I have another system with this board and have the same issue. I'm not sure what the issue is but the skylake machines I have on z170 bards will not update in place from 10.13.1 to 10.13.2 or 10.13.3.

I do not have this issue with my z270 machines. Some others are having major performance issues with Nvidia cards on 10.13.3 as well.

Great - can anyone contribute to this? From reading other forums it seems like it's a common problem. This was one of the recommended boards for Sierra, seems a shame for so many of us who bought it for compatibility being stuck on the last OS.

I’m on high Sierra 10.13.1. It does work and no issue. I think the patches and recent Nvidia drivers are having a lot of trouble. In fact people are having similar issues on Mac Pro 5,1 systems with Nvidia cards. It’s also reported safari issues and 10.13.3. It’s likely the security patches and igpu support. Or any number of things.

I was going to try a fresh install on a test machine of 10.13.3.

You should upload your configuration, EFI folder minus themes, that you are using to boot when updating fails. Press F2 at the bootmenu to save the preboot log first.

Bump - as this is a recommended Skylake build, can any of the mods and geniuses step in please?
It is difficult to diagnose when you don't post anything meaningful :
the installation never completes with the discrete graphics
What happens ? How far does it get ?
Boot in verbose mode and post a picture of the screen when it stops.
