Looks as if the kernel version (17.3.0) hasn't changed. APFS hasn't changed either.

That's strange. How can they fix meltdown or spectre without changing the Kernel as they both exploits affect the kernel ?

EDIT:
IT does not fix the kernel. This update is initial fix for spectre in Safari & webkit only:

Hasn't meltdown already been fixed in 10.13.2?

The question on everyone's minds: Does MacOS fix the Intel #KPTI Issue? Why yes, yes it does. Say hello to the "Double Map" since 10.13.2 -- and with some surprises in 10.13.3 (under Developer NDA so can't talk/show you).

The update is won't install. (Installing remaining time.. , restart, and I stayed at 17C88.)
Tried it:
From App Store
From Terminal with: softwareupdate -ia
With official update from Apple.
Same result.

Same here , I installed the update via teh app store and it still shows 10.13.2 (17C88)

anyone?

[EDIT]
I just installed the update again using the standalone download, this time after reboot the install partition was shown, after booting from it that update was successful .

@DaveJ1 make sure to boot from the temporary install partition (in Clover)

Had the same issue after updating to the latest nvdia driver (104) - tried this - no luck. Titan Card doesn't show up, nvdia panel reverts back to osx driver after telling me .104 is "not compatible with my current OS".

I've got the latest version of lilu, fakesmc, nvdiagraphicsfixup, and a few realtek kexts in the clover/kexts/other folder.

Any one running a Titan X card successfully?

Some more background: I initially changed my systemversion to 17C89 to try using the older driver. That didn't work, so I just reverted the systemversion file back to 17C205. And that's what it shows under "about this mac".

Curious why the driver still thinks its not compatible with my version of the OS.

I ran updating without any problem .. My system is Asus Z170-WS, I7 6700K, Nvidia Titan X 12G.

You may check bios seting on your motherboard again to make sure everything is right... It happens to me when I played around and my system not reconized my graphics card . I tried reinstall, reformat SSD... but finally I found out the setting in my bios is changed.... took me a day to figure out. Good luck

Successful Update running rx 560 ROG just updated fakesmc.kext and update from store

Was a bit of a glitchy experience and a noticeably different process from a real mac (mini). Factory mac mini updated with the familiar black screen, Apple logo and white progress bar while the Hack updated showing the "Installing High Sierra" page with the round image of the High Sierra mountains. After updating, the Hack also went through the "setting up your mac" page while the mini didn't. Hack updated far faster than the mini, but also had 2 crashes during the process. All's well that ends well, but this was the first update I can remember that seemed to go a lot differently on the Hack compared to factory mac.

This update was the smoothest since High Sierra came out for me. I checked for updated kexts, updated the two that needed it, made sure Clover was up to date, and ran the install. Removed GPU after install, booted with inject Intel, updated NVidia drivers, rebooted, and all is well.
