This machine runs an InsydeH2O BIOS. Search for the guides.
The only difference is that the BIOS cannot be extracted from official BIOS update packages. If you open BIOS update package with Phoenix tools, only a portion of the bios gets decrypted and you won't find the DXE Core section that contains the DVMT variable. You have to extract the BIOS from your machine running windows with Universal BIOS Backup Kit 2.0.

I'm new to the Hackintosh scene, so if these questions are stupid or obvious feel free to tell me as such and point me in the right direction.

Currently I'm stuck on this bit. I can't seem to find a legitmate download of Universal BIOS Backup Kit 2.0. Every single one I'm finding though Google is getting flagged by Windows for some type of Trojan. Is this normal? My gut feeling says no, but maybe it is.

As I said, I'm a relative newbie with this stuff so any help is appreicated. Thanks!

Edit: found the tool. All good.

Hello Everyone!
Very happy to see that my guide is still followed by a lot of members.

My 9360 is working incredibly well, the build is so stable that I never encountered any issue (the only one, unfortunately, being Bluetooth not reliable after standby).
After almost one year, the battery still lasts 10+ hours at full brightness (with SATA SSD swap).
I'm very happy, best laptop purchase ever.

I have two news for you all:

1) I am preparing a small hardware add-on to make use of the internal USB header occupied (uselessly) by the touchscreen. I will document my findings asap.
2) The time has come. It's time to tackle High Sierra. I will begin transitioning the guide to 10.13, still with a cautious, LTS-minded approach.

Will update you soon.

Thanks everyone for the work on this guide. My computer is working beutifully except for one somewhat crucial thing, so this is a less stupid query (I hope :)).

I've followed the guide to the letter, and haven't deviated from it at all. I am unable to get WiFi to work. Bluetooth is functioning fine (it discovers my Sony Xperia and vice-versa) but Wifi will not show up regardless of how many times I clear the kextcache etc. I even reset the BIOS and did a clean install and I am still unable to get it functioning. Ideas?

TIA.

Bluetooth is a known issue on this machine. To date we haven't managed to solve the bluetooth resume from sleep.

Sound works fine. Just use the codeccommander kexts and ensure they're patched to work for the HDA driver you chose.

Hey @bozma88 !
Thanks for wonderful guide.

I'm on XPS 9360 UHD with no mods to your settings and currently my system clock is lagging behind.
I wonder if anyone has seen something similar and can advise me what to do.
Also, I have audio crackling, not sure how to win that.

Now that I am running the same platform, I will take a more in-depth look at BrcmPatchRAM and the possible race condition you are experiencing. Personally, I haven't experienced any issues yet with Bluetooth coming out of sleep.

Note that I have taken care to disable USB on Google Chrome and any other problems potentially blocking the USB port access.
