can someone refresh me on this topic please, ie where to start with this vast thread, is the first page still relevant for sierra and high sierra?
ive been using usb dac for ages on my x58 build, and have not been concerned that there is no native audio, yet having 5.1 would be nice with new amp (from skip)...

thanks a million

High Sierra Desktop/Realtek AppleHDA Audio

As noted in previous reply, IOReg/no AppleHDA.kext

Can you check now if in this IOreg is present also AppleHDA?

Thanks

I hope I understand it well

EDIT:
Find a solution for MSI Z170i Gaming pro AC: first install ALC1150 and Series 100 from Multibeast, reboot. Then install last Voodoo and reboot, and it's done.
Thanks all.

Hello all,

I'll report my problem as mentioned in the tutorial. I installed Sierra 10.12 on my hackintosh, everything is working (network, bluetooth, etc.) excepted audio device. It's my first Hackintosh so please be indulgent...

I'm using the mobo MSI Z170i Gaming pro AC + Intel i7 6700 + no graphic card (I used the mobo graphic card to install the system).

BIOS version of mobo is E7980IMS.1B0 and build date: 12/30/2016

I follow the tutorial (installation is completely clean, just network and bluetooth kexts) :
> I 1. 1. 10.12 and newer and 2. Audio / AMX Injection No Audio Output / Audio Input Devices Found = Ok, the system doesn't find any device (see result in attachment)

> 3 HDEF Verification/IORegistryExplorer. Result = No codec, because no IOREF or @1B.

> III No Codec = Audio is enables in BIOS, no -x flag is used, no boot installer USB, HD Audio is enabled in BIOS (if I disabled it, no device is present in DPCIManager, so worst than if it's enabled).
2. DPCIManager/Status/Codec ID and Revision
My Codec ID is blank as you can see in the attached screenshot.

What I did:
> I followed the different tutorials from Before You Install Audio to the final point III No codec of this post.
> Go to the MSI Website to get ALC version, it's 1150. So I used Multibeast to install ALC1150 + 100/200 Series Audio (no change).
> I used audio_codecdetect.command and result is in attachment.
> You can find in attachment : different screenshots of System Parameters, System Information (no device audio), DPCIManager Status (where the soft finds one audio device but no codec ID) and copy file of IOReg.

Moreover I read this :
Unsupported/Non working Realtek ALC AppleHDA/Post #1/Realtek ALC AppleHDA
  1. 100 Series/Intel High Definition Audio
Does that mean that I can't install audio? Or is it possible?

Many thanks in advance for your help...
