Hi,
I've dabbled with a Hackingtosh years ago and glad to see all the improvements made since. I stumbled upon this guide and noticed the "Deal of the Day" and great price for a i7 core so I went ahead and purchased it.
HP Compaq 8300 Elite Small Form Factor Desktop PC, Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD, Win-10 Pro x64
This build will be for my daughter and possibly purchasing another for me if I get it working correctly.
Unfortunately, I'm stumped....
here's what happened.
-Received the HP, created image of the Windows HD, in case things hit the fan.
-Gathered all the software needed for the Hackingtosh install and read thru tutorial twice.
-Loaded everything, was able to successfully get to the Sierra screen and mess with MacOS.
-Unplugged the USB drive and rebooted - sat there like a dummy - not loading Sierra.
-Backtracked and noticed I may have screwed something up with the EFI (Clover edit section)
-Decided to start from scratch and re-format the 80GB SSD I installed for this project
-Used the same USB stick to reload from the USB but failed. Apple comes up with the bar empty and shutting down after 5 min.
-Made another USB with Unibeast and same thing. Read thru threads and tried some things but no luck.
_****** I hope this is the correct place to ask for help since it's specifically for the HP 8300**********
-I did read up and grabbed a photo in verbose mode.... Only thing I see thats an issue is " Please switch to XPC or bootstrap_check_in(): com.apple.bsd.dirhelper "
At this point out of the box it worked great other than my messup with it only loading from the USB. I think I came across a post about moving all the contents of the EFI from the USB to the SSD and it would of worked fine, but not sure. I like starting from scratch at times so I have no issues or surprises later when things get rolling.
I'm attaching the photo of the log, any help would be greatly appreciated.
