[Guide] Laptop backlight control using AppleBacklightFixup.kext

This put the second to last touch on my Xiaomi MiBook Air 2 and the guide worked out of the box. What this fixed for me was the brightness hotkeys actually doing more than just displaying the brightness popup and me having to use "brightness" installed via Homebrew. :)

Very nice indeed and thank you very much @RehabMan!

But I've already attached all the problem reporting files in the reply I mentioned in my previous reply

Any change requires updated "Problem Reporting" files.

Tried to patch EDID. After restart strange colors on the screen (see screnshot). Still no brightness control, it starts to work after waking PC from sleep.

Read post #1, "Problem Reporting".

Finally made it work! Just following very carefully the guide in every step, I actually need to create a new DSDT with just the really needed patch and now works!

But the function keys don’t work well, I press just once and the slider goes to maximum or minimum and don’t work again until boot or wake after sleep.

And now I experiment issues with sleep when the wifi dongle is conected

Read about Dell function keys in the main backlight guide linked from the FAQ.

I got brightness but now I have graphics flickering...What to do?
I posted zip file so if anyone can check what is wrong now, graphics is flickering after this procedure of brightness fixing

Looks like no Intel MEI device on the PCI bus.
The graphics accelerator kext (QE) requires it.
Attach 'lspci -nn' from Linux Terminal to confirm.

Followed the guide + injected custom EDID, the slider shows up in the display settings, but it has no effect.
I'm stuck. Any ideas?
