From where do you take the 3.3V standby, on the motherboard?

L6.jpg

I used the 14 pin TPM header (pin 14 is 3.3VSB+, pin 8 is ground) which is located next to the front panel header. See page 1-3 of the ASUS H110S1 User Guide.

Note that these are fine pitch headers and not the standard 0.1” on center ones. I used salvage USB3 internal cables because of the pinned out female connector has this pitch. I stripped off the outer cable jacket, cut off the un-need portion of the connector, cut off the un-needed wires leaving only the 3.3VSB+ and Ground wire. Used several sizes of heat shrink to build the cable seen in the photo above.

Good modding,

Neil,
you should have used:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...34&cm_re=THIN_MINI_ITX-_-13-132-834-_-Product
has your SSD support.
I would never have used a power brick, but that is your call.
I would have tried to fit this ps in:
http://www.hd-plex.com/HDPLEX-Internal-160W-AC-DC-Adapter-with-Active-PFC-and-19VDC-Output.html
or a linear. There are other accessories on this site that may be of interest to you.
I just finished an Aluminum (rose gold) Luna Designs machine with a Asus Q87t using and I5 with Sierra 10.12.3. Temps are little higher as it has a MSATA and a full size SSD both Samsung with Windows and Mac. no Wifi as slots are shared. New build coming with HDplex H1.S using Q110T will have M.2 SSD regular SSD and Wifi. Plan is to have it in the TV room for use on the Samsung UHD TV. If I can get HDMI audio to work on Mac side.

Compatible Power brick crap for small form factor boards.

Thank you for your kind comments.

However you did miss the point of the cube project with the mini-STX motherboard. The key here is the CPU location on the small foot print motherboard that allows the CPU to be nearly centered between the heat sink side slide rails. The thin Mini-ITX boards as with Mini-ITX has the CPU offset.

As for using an external PSU; why not? The original used and external PSU.

Good modding,

Did not miss that, just figured you could work around it, you are pretty good at that. The bricks are unreliable at this price point and voltage level. None of them have power factor correction. The STX boards are just not made for higher powered processors, even though they will work. I question their reliability, and if they fry your processor that is a big loss due to a cheap board.

Thanks Neil, that will help a lot

Hello, neil. Can you give me your efi folder and config file? My computer is almost the same as yours, but I have no way to drive intel hd530 graphics card. It would be great if you could!

ZondaCDC welcome to the forum. Please explain your "...I have no way to drive intel hd530 graphics card." comment. And what version of Sierra do you have installed?

Also please go back and read the rules and then complete the user profile information about our system so that it is reflected in the left side bar below your UID.

Is this case special made or what? I like it so much :)

I am pleased that you like this mod. If you go back and read the first 5 or 10 posts of this thread you will gain a better understanding of this project and will learn the answer to your question.

thanks for your reminder. Neil.
I have modified my profile.
I have tried installing macos serria 10.12.2. DP can not output the video signal. I would like to get your EFI folder and config file reference object.
My English is terrible, please forgive me. Haha

This is my computer picture
