macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

@Fl0r!an:

tried to unload DRV_ID <-- but gives me "RESULT ACCESS DENIED" error right after hitting "y" on keyboard.
(DRV-ID is 146 in my case).
Could see this, cause i tried to give this comment before typing "disconnect DEV_ID" (145 in my case).

If i do it as you described above (first disconnect, than unload), SIERRA gets loaded but still with same behaviour: blackscreen. SORRY. I think it is because i get ACCESS DENIED message and therefor the DRV_ID never gets unloaded.

Btw: tried this with Sapphire RX460 4GB in slot#1, IGPU disabled and (important!) CSM disabled.

I'm pretty sure the unload is working when the driver has been disconnected in first place. Can't be sure because of no display output though.
When I don't unload the driver after disconnecting, the screen will kick in again after exiting the shell. That won't happen after unloading.

I'm looking to buy an RX 470, and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm a bit intimidated by having to sift through 101 (and growing) pages of messages in order to get it working.

Is there any talk on tonymacx86.com about getting more guides together, à la "Fix iMessage"? It seems to me it would be less work for all involved, both for heavy hitters who are problem solving for others, and those who are less familiar with the intricacies.

How about a wiki site with write permission for those who've been most active in troubleshooting and getting things working?

^^^
Why don't you buy a brand/model of card that is confirmed working.
I have a red devil 480. Works perfectly and easy to setup.

With the 480 you do the following.

In Bios. Set igpu as primary initial display to ipgu
In clover select inject ati.
Go to System/Library/Extensions and find AMDRadeonX4100.kext
Right click and select 'show package contents'.
Copy info.plist to desktop
Open in text edit.
Find <key>IOPCIMatch</key>
<string>0x67E01002 0x67FF1002 0x67EF1002</string>
Replace <key>IOPCIMatch</key>
<string>0x67E01002 0x67FF1002 0x67EF1002 0x67DF1002</string>
Save info.plist
Now copy it to the contents of 4100.kext and replace the original with the edited info.plist
Final step, download/open kext utility. Let it do it's thing.
Restart system.
Everything should now work.

You don't have ARBG2101010 color in metal support status on either graphics device.
The Intel HD 530 Said that Have metal support and no, my installation is a dual boot OS (Windows in his ssd and macOS in another ssd) just with clover, you know also know as "Vanilla"

Is it a clover UEFI boot or Legacy boot loader?

See "Enabling RX 4XX Cards in Sierra", use search on this site.

RX 470 Cards reported working MSI, Sapphire. Most others should work, but most people go with the 480 cards because they work better than the 470s.

RX 480 Cards reported working as of now MSI, XFX, Powercooler RED DEVIL, Sapphire.
RX 480 Cards with reported problems Gigabyte, HIS, *Asus. Asus was reported to work earlier but it has not been confirmed and one person at least if I recall has had problems.

Hi , i have lost the status quo according the 480 cards. Which problems has a ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 480 OC compared to the red devil 480?
Plz, enlighten me!

Red Devil has an extra DVI port so 5 ports total, and runs well with high benchmarks. It is large with three fans and needs space in your case.

Asus, I haven't seen a single benchmark from an Asus 480 on this site. If anyone has one please post a Uningine Valley Extreme HD bench?

I'll add a short section with details on enabling the GPUs to the "Radeon" guide, which is a sticky thread in this section. There's actually not much more to tell then I've written in the first post of this thread: The Polaris 10/11 cards can be enabled by fiddling with the device IDs (there are a few methods which do more or less the same), but there are still some notable bugs.

For this reason, we won't recommend those GPUs anytime soon. The overall experience is still far away from the expectations of most Hackintosh users and the overall compatiblity of the "Buyer's Guide" hardware.

I have an XFX RS Radeon 480 with 4GB. So far I have full acceleration, metal support and no problems whatsoever. To make my life a little bit easier I have connected two HDMIs to my monitor -one in AMD and one in the onboard. So I boot with the input 1 (onboard) when clover shows I move the choice to Siera, I switch inputs to input 2 (AMD RX 480) and boot normally to MacOS. I read about setting MacOS as default in clover but couldn't get it to work so my next best scenario was this one. At least I don't have to swap the cables every now and then.

A question. I have 10.12.2 beta 1 installed. Should I install beta 3? Any suggestions? Anyone tried?

What you mean when Say "ARBG2101010 color in metal support" and is a UEFI boot I have everything working and I tried every week to make my XFX RX 480 and some user here have his XFX RX 480 Working and I can't :/
