It would be awesome to keep my gtx1070, but it's been a long wait, I really need performance for video editting and the hd530 can't handle it. Someone knows which is the amd option that would be similar to 1080 or 1070? and more important, if those are supported yet. The rx480 is not as good as the 1070. :/ C'mon Nvidiaa

My suggestion is to just get a decent but inexpensive Maxwell card for macOS and switch between Maxwell and Pascal cards when booting Windows. I do this and it gives me the best of both worlds.

Please, stop with OT!

Here it is just about Pascal compatibility with sierra.

Would you please explain your configuration and settings for OS X and Windows.

I made a account just to comment. After waiting for months ( I got 1080 when it 1st came out). Went to bestbuy and bought the gt 720 2GB card to use with OS X. The. My 1080 for windows I just switch my monitor input. P.s. Been following this forum for ever. Hope 1080 gets supported soon. Even if we only get support for 1 display port on the card hahahah

Guys remember Skylake has own build-in GPU and it is pretty solid and compatible Intel Graphics Card.

Yes, iGPU can always be used.
But for those (including me) who want to do GPU intensive works on Hackintoshes, iGPU is not powerful enough at all.

People really need Nvidia card drivers...

I hate to say it but for GPU oriented Mac devs _right now_ Nvidia is not an option. Let's say we develop games. Of course we use hackintoshes and in a large numbers. But our target is AMD cards. It's the cards that people use. And iGPU too. We test Nvidia stuff as the last ones.

And frankly speaking compute implementation (on Metal of course not on CUDA) is very good on iGPU and AMD right now. So yes I do want 1080 inside my hack but if there will be issues with Metal driver I am mostly busted. Nobody will fix it. Contrary to AMD/Intel - those will be fixed quickly.

So 1080 Yay but for real developer work not so much.

Look here for a very good explanation of why they have chosen a AMD GPU instead of a NVIDIA:

Power consumption aside—the laptop version of the GTX 1060, Nvidia’s slowest Pascal-based laptop chip, has an 85W TDP where the MacBook Pro’s AMD GPUs are all 35W—Nvidia’s cards support a maximum of four displays. And while Nvidia’s GPUs support DisplayPort 1.3, the Thunderbolt 3 controller and most monitors only support 1.2.

It does raise the question of whether Apple might offer an Nvidia-specced option once DisplayPort 1.3 is more widely supported. At that point, an Nvidia GPU’s four display streams could drive the internal display plus up to three 5K monitors.
