Custom SSDT was already required in 10.11.
In 10.11.4 - 10.11.6 usb 3.0 worked without custom SSDT (only USBInjectAll.kext), the problem appeared in the 10.12. Motherboard Gigabyte Z170-HD3P.
SM BIOS (El Capitan) iMac 16.2
SM BIOS (Sierra) iMac 14.2.
SM BIOS iMac 17.1 - Nvidia Web driver don't start

The only way it would have worked is with the port limit patch. And, of course, everyone should know the port limit patch is not for long term use. There is a new port limit patch for 10.12, but still, it is not for long term use. Plan on creating a custom SSDT such that only the ports you need are injected (under the 15-port limit).

Thanks. Working with patch. Why it is not for long term use?

The patch is known to cause other problems. There are good reasons for the port limit code. By passing it for long term use is not a good idea.

Should I use only custom SSDT or custom SSDT with port limit code?

No need for the port limit patch if the injected number of ports is less than or equal to 15.

Work without custom SSDT in 10.11 and now working without one in 10.12.

Rehabman answered tgis post, Thank's.

but I don´t have that techinal background. I must learn more details.

Finally for my build Z97-HD3, I5 4690K, 8GB DD3, INTEL HD4600, AND NO USB 3.0.
In Clover found that change definition from 14.2 to 15.2 Voilá USB 3.0 worked!.

Hope somebody also work.
