OSX installation on clevo p650re6

Hi,

I saw the new 10.11.4 update was released a few days back and i now feel comfortable trying it out on my new laptop.
It has skylake and i know its not going to be easy but i can give it a try!

My question is:

Can i install OSX on my 500gb ssd while windows is installed?
If not can i make a backup of windows and restore it later on?

Also, my laptop has a MUX chip where i can choose for the DGpu only or the optimus/mshybrid mode does this bring any complications when i want to use the igpu?

I will make a buildpost as soon as i start trying things out.

OS X is not well behaved with disks partitioned by other than OS X Disk Utility, but there are things you can check/do.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I think i can get it to work but it seems like quit the hassle :p Maybe i will just install OSX on a physical HDD instead.
For the mux switch, I saw the thread just noone with this switch. Guess ill find out if it works once i try!

Optimus not supported (clear in FAQ). In optimus mode, best you can do is disable Nvidia via ACPI patches (related guide linked from FAQ).

In DGPU only mode, you may be able to get it to work (but will be a power pig). I don't have details on mobile Nvidia as I have no such hardware.

I will just disable the Nvidia GPU.
Im now setting up a virtualbox to get the usb drive
Will post back when im stuck or got to the installer :)

Make sure you read the guide. Carefully.

Oh... hmmm, i think i got my old laptops Mac drive still somewhere.
Will try to boot that one and create the usb.

Hi RehabMan,

Today i started checking out if i could get the installer to boot. I installed the newest clover and followed all the steps in your guids on how to install.
I also used your new config.plist for the intel hd 530 graphics.

The problem i have:

When booting with -x -v i get a blackscreen at "xcpm: registered"
When booting with just -v i get a blackscreen at "DSMOS had arrived"
Sometimes i also get the "ig: (igpu?) ne pci apci not found "..." add imei toefi / acpi device list"

Got anny tips on how to get past this?
I tried multiple ig-platform-id's and also tried without one and inject intel disabled.

Going to bed right now so i will include the config.

Why? There is no Skylake laptop in your profile or signature.

Very strange, i editted the signature a few days ago. I must Have reverted it. Its updates now!
