3rd Party USB 3.0 - GenericUSBXHCI.kext Working in 10.11.2

It’s work. But i have minor problem. while plugged some device on USB port, system shutdown takes too long. Is there any solution about that?

It doesn't work for me. I also have Etron EJ168 in asrock fatal1ty mobo and the usb 3.0 doesn't work even are not showed in system panel. Without GenericUSBXHCI.kext are showed.

Hello, I have a Gigabyte-GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo. This mobo contains:

[/FONT]I am unable to get a USB3 to work. I am forced to disable it in BIOS to be able to boot into el Capitan. I have tried to install this kext but after enabling USB3 in BIOS it keeps hanging at boot with a apple logo and progress bar that never makes any progress.

I have spent hours reading trough various threads and topics but no solution so far. Is there anyone here with a similar mobo that has USB3 functionality and is able to point me in the right direction?

I have the same problem with my ga-z68ma-d2h-b3 Clover and 10.11.2

I don't know if there are ej168 with others version. The technicall specification showed ej168a and it doesn't work with it. When I uninstalled the kext the usb 3.0 ports are showed but doesn't works then if I connect any pendrive are showed as connected in pref-panel but not mounted.


With the GenericUSBXHCI.kext not even are showed in pref-panel.

I placed the kext in kexts folder of Clover EFI partition.
VIA VL805 controlled USB 3.0 ports on my Gigabyte H81M-HD3 started working

However this is only partial success, because only USB thumb drives are working. My iPod, Windows Phone, Android tablet and Logitech webcam are not recognized through these ports.

Does anybody else have the same problem?

My board is MSI Gaming 7 X99 with
* Intel X99 Express Chipset
* ASMedia ASM1042 Chipset
* VIA VL805

I have tried this generic kext using Clover but unfortunately with the kext it just reboots randomly during boot. Anything I am missing? OS 10.11.3.

I Thought my USB3 port on VAIO VPCSA should not be managed ...

1033, 0194, 104D, 907B, NEC Corporation, uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller

but i installed Generic* kext under /S/L/E in place of /EFI/Clover and my USB device is now mounted !!!!

Kext is listed in System information/Extensions panel but devices is not shown in USB panel ! :-/

Btw the port is usable and speed seems to be USB3 (3,5Go copied in ~1min on Samsung Fit 128go).

I have good news with my EJ168a. I have installed the kext in S/L/Extension and it started to work. Any pendrive in whaever usb3 port is mounted and work properly. In other hand, the information about usb hub and ports aren't shown in USB panel. Also I didn't test the usb speed but in the next days I gonna try this and feedback.
