Hello all,

First off, a very warm thank you to all who have made this guide.

Now, on to my question:

I'm about 95% of the way there, just running into one problem.

When I get to the step where you post install the EFI clover partition (Section 9, step 9), and then try to boot directly from that, the system hangs at the "missing Bluetooth controller transport" message. Now, I realize that this isn't necessarily related to anything Bluetooth, but may be related to my graphics card (980). I've tried booting with the usual -x -v -f flags to see if I can get past it, but to no avail.

When I boot from the Clover USB, all works fine, however.

Has anybody run into this issue, and if so, have they come up with a fix for it?

Or, failing that, can I just use the EFI installer folder for the clover USB installer? What is different between the pre and post install folder versions?

Many thanks for anyone who can help out here.

edit: this is for installing 10.10.5 to an ASUS x99 deluxe mobo, 5960x processor.

I think I will reinstall Yosemite from scratch....
I need to finish a job and no time to wait.... (and no Carbon copy.. :( )

After you fresh installation of 10.10.5. Did you update the Nvidia drivers and then install the Yosemite updates? Or did you left it as is??

I am gonna reinstall my OS. Wondering if I should try to update Yosemite after updating the Nvdia drivers....
Thanks

If you download Yosemite from Appstore maybe you will have the new version with this f....g security patch so you should not have problems, just you need to download new nvidia webdrivers (only beta is available and the one used for ElCapitan!) and that's all....but if you downloaded and prepared your USB stick before the last updates you are at the same point like we are, because if you try to install the last nvidia drivers they will say to you that osx version is not supported so you need to update osx nd then install drivers...and so problems come!!! I tried everything, change boot arguments, overwriting IOPCIfamily and APPLEACPI kexts, but i don't find a solution to boot OSX...i come back with a CCC backup....but i would like to understand why i'm not able to boot!

Well, failing an answer from others, I went ahead and did the EFI section from the clover bootloader in place of the post - install EFI, went into configurator and changed a couple of boot flags, and bob's your uncle. Should I be aware of any further things that I might need to look out for? Still wondering what the main difference was between the two different EFI versions. Next, back to seeing if I can't get the Thunderbolt working.

1) Did you load default bios settings in your mainboard?
2) After 1 step did you set bios settings as described in the guide?
3) If you installed Yosemite with Unibeast did you patch kernel? Everything went ok with kernel patch?
4) After step 3 did you install clover on Yosemite HD?
5) If you did step 4 did you overwrite EFI directory in your Yosemite HD with the one in the zip file named efi post install?
If you did all those steps you should boot without error messages...if you have problems after installing clover and overwriting EFI dir maybe you didn't patch kernel with UNIBEAST USB.....
Please describe exactly your steps in a detailed way.

I tried to re-download the 10.10.5 installer. But it appears that Apple did not update it with the security patch. It still dates back to August.... So I guess there's not much we can do.... just gotta ignore that stupid patch.... BTW, does anyone know how to get audio to work from HDMI?

Sorry, I'm just assuming that people took it as read that I'd done all of the steps properly up until I'd run into my problem. This is actually my second install of the Hack system on this guy, I've had a working setup for the past year until something went haywire on me a few weeks ago. At any rate, all seems to be working with my workaround, so I think I'm good to go, and got the Thunderbolt working again last night.

Try the search menu..there is a topic how to use HDMI audio.
PS about the patch i tried everything but system always reboots so if rbbunmc will not help us to solve this problem i think it's better to ignore the update.

I was wondering if those of you with a x99e-ws have been able to get both Intel ethernet ports to work under Yosemite? Thanks!
