UniBeast: Install OS X El Capitan on Any Supported Intel-based PC

Status
Not open for further replies.
In preparation of installing El Capitan on my working dual booting yosemite/Windows 10 install on same drive. I created a clover USB boot disk. while I can boot OSX from Clover (Legacy) perfectly fine my windows install doesn't. Says there is something missing and I need to run the repair tool. Something Like "The required boot configuration data file is missing some required information."

With chimera everything works perfectly.

Is there something that I am missing in the clover boot disk in order to boot windows?

Thanks Tonymacx86.. :D:D:headbang:

This site doesn't have any immediate plans to support OS X El Capitan with Chimera/Chameleon. Though Enoch branch of Chameleon does work with El Capitan, legacy bootloaders really have nothing to offer over Clover. Also when building Enoch from the sources available from the official svn repository has resulted in a nonfunctional bootloader.

Note to X58 users: stay on Yosemite for now- Clover is not working in our testing.

Are there plans to continue supporting X58, and to provide updates to getting El Capitan running on the platform?

I hope so! Even the I7-9xx can hang with the latest releases-- and our overclocked, X56xx Xeons reliably deliver 18,000-20,000 Geekbench scores.

Are we even able to run clover on such old systems?

Thanks for the quick updates on unibeast, I am typing this message from El Capitan with the help from this guide.

No luck so far with my install tried many things still can't get past boot. Yosemite works fine.

Tried using the following kexts in the 10.10 and 10.11 folder.

nullcpupowermanagement
network drivers
fakesmc

Doing something wrong maybe ?

Maybe a problem with some incompatible kext in S/L/E. EvOreboot.kext? Old FakeSMC.kext?

I get this error....
When booting from usb, please help

Do you have a kext to enable usb3.0. Try removing that.

Alright I got this running on my X99 build. The USB installer I couldn't get to work. However I had a real Mac laying around so I pulled a spare SSD off the shelf installed onto that from the real Mac. Installed Clover and Post Install Tools onto that drive as well as VoodooTSync and my Nvidia drivers. Shutdown, and put the SSD into my X99 build and it booted with zero issues. Not sure why it wouldn't boot from the installer but after some research it seems common to have problems get X99 to boot from install media. Also DO NOT use the HaswellE Kernel patch in Clover, it works just fine without it. The only boot flags I have are nv_graphics=1 and npci-2000
