I am using a Hackintosh that uses Asus Z97M Plus motherboard and a Dell P2416D 2k display.
However after connected the monitor and the Hackintosh through a HDMI cable inside the display setting in OS X I could not find 2k option. It shows me 1080P is the maximum. What am I supposed to do??

MOBO ports: 1 HDMI 1 VGA 1 DVI-d
Monitor ports: 1 HDMI 1 VGA 1 Display port

When I check the manual from ASUS they said this board's HDMI port does support up to 4k display.
I am using the Intel 4600 internal graphic.

What am I suppose to do ???
(Btw, my monitor works fine in 2k when connected to my other PC)

Here are some screenshots:

what boot loader and system profile are you using?

I use Chimera. My system now is still 10.10.3.
What's system profile???

Your system profile is Mac Pro (early 2008) or MacPro3,1 as it would normally be referred to. You might want to try a different system profile such as iMac14,2.

I just tried....No luck.
I tried to change it to iMac 14,2 15,1 and MacPro6.1
Inside the display setting it just does not have an 2560x1440 option.

Is this caused by driver issue???? Or I just bought a unsupported monitor........:banghead:

Motherboard choice:
Native OS X/HD4600/DP: 1440p
Native OS X/HD4600/HDMI: 1080p

Try
1. SwitchResX/HDMI
2. Discrete graphics card

Thanks for the info!
I tried SwitchResX , I set it to 1440p....WOW. Blur as hell.....><
Could not stand it.

What kind of graphics card have the capability to drive a 2k display???
Nvidia ?? GT or GTX??
Do you have any recommendations??
